Help needed regarding churchill insurance + car damage

  • Thanks for the advice mate. Will probably let them come out to give me a quote on the damage if it's expensive I will look to trade it in probably! Can't afford to lose my NCB so I will lose out on the car at a garage probs! Unless it's fixable for under £500!

    You can get a free quote for the repairs if you take your car to a bodyshop.

    AFAIK a bodyshop will only give you an estimate of the repair costs, rather than a quote, or pro-forma invoice

    Estimate's are always subject to indisclosed damage, and cars being the fiddly things that they are, quite a lot of damage can be done without actually showing much cosmetic damage.

    The only way to tell exactly how much a repair will cost for a quote or proforma (which is not subject to a change in price) is to strip the vehicle

    The reason most (all?) bodyshops will not do a proforma invoice is because it obviously takes them time & money, with not even a hint of an indication that the repairs when they're finally done will be done by them
