Green Car Recommendations

I think the greenest bigger car (not mini, not Corsa not Clio or any of the super mini sector) is the new 2008 Ford Focus 1.6 diesel.
A quote from the HonestJohn web site:
--- Now, without adequate warning, and well before VW has got its Mk VI on the road, Ford has stolen the march again and brought us another Focus so heavily revised it’s effectively a Focus Mk III.
Thankfully Ford left alone the car’s structure that earned it five NCAP stars for occupant safety and four for child safety, and gave it class-leading handling and ride comfort. Instead they concentrated on completely re-panelling the exterior of the car, tidying up the interior, fitting the Mondeo’s Easifuel filler that won’t let you put petrol in a diesel, and adding politically correct extras like Electronic Stability Control across the range. Ford has been environmentally correct, too, as all 1.6 diesels are now under 120g/km CO2, whole the ECOnetic puffs out just 114g/km. So all qualify for £35pa annual tax and, if Ken’s promised plans go through, all Focus 1.6 diesels can enter Central London free of any congestion taxes from February 2008.
I once had an apple green Micra, I am a block but sold it on to another block, we don't really mind the colour.. are we?:rotfl: Five exclamation marks the sure sign of an insane mind!!!!!

I'm looking for a large family vehicle in the price range of £15,000 and it has to be the "greenest" car available within that budget..ie. producing the lowest carbon emissions etc
Forgot to add, and inline with what others have suggested:
Don't put yet another new car on the road, buy at 6 months to 1 year old, any new car snags will have been sorted and you will save yourself rather a lot of money in the bargain, and help stem the "I must have a new car" haemorage. Thats pretty green.
In the short term you will be helping keep 2nd hand residuals up,
And in the longterm you should be helping to keep new car prices down. Sounds rubbish, I know, but most things cycle like this.
On the other hand. if you really put green over money saving you could buy 2 cars, say 10 year old Fiesta diesel and a 1 year old 3.5ltr petrol 4x4. Then put the 4x4 through the crusher:T :T :T :T :T :T

I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)
Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed0 -
Thanks everyone for your advice..
I've decided that I'm definately going to go for a 2nd hand car because of the reduced emissions from not having a new one made.
The Ford Focus III sounds pretty good, but does it have an official name, or is that it because i cant find it?
also, has anyone got any other suggestions of large family cars in my budget?
thanks everyone whos already helped!0 -
Lamborghini Gallardo....... It's green like you asked.

Seriously now, the Ford Focus III is the one which has only come out in the last couple of weeks so you wont find one that is second hand just yet. I am not even 100% sure it has been released yet as I haven't seen one."I'm not from around here, I have my own customs"
For confirmation: No, I'm not a 40 year old woman, I'm a 26 year old bloke!0 -

Actually, yes I have seen one of those Focus'. I didn't realise the redesign in terms of looks was so subtle in comparison to the designs being banded around recently."I'm not from around here, I have my own customs"
