Hello,
Can anyone please tell me if 3 sims work on other unlocked phones.
Specifically, I want to take up the 7600 offer on at CPW (basically free for 12mnths) but dont like the phone.
Would want to put the sim into my unlocked Nokia 3100.
Has anyone tried this with this phone or any other?
Thanks.

Aren't 3 sim's 3G ? so they need to be put into another 3G phone ?
i'm not sure.0 -
Haven't tried it, but I would imagine that if you did this, you would only get 2G services, and not 3G.I haven't been asked to tell you that I'm the Board Drunk for this board. As the night wears on, my posts will become worse, with simple spelling mistakes, inane ramblings, and a blatant disregard for the truth. I have no authority to do anything, so there's no point asking or telling me. If you see me past midnight, please tell me to get my coat and order me a taxi.

I read something about them working for a while but '3' giving you a warning to stop doing it because essentially you are forcing the 3G sim work on the 2G network. I think the only reason it works is because in low '3' signal areas '3' piggyback the O2 network.
I'm about 70% sure you will have to use a 3G phone or they'll eventually ban you.0 -
I was using my '3' sim in my Nokia 3220 and received a text a few weeks later TELLING me to put my sim in a 3G enabled phone, otherwise they'll suspend my service within 2 days. Sure enough I put it back into my 3G handset and 3 days later they tried to block my sim. My phone displayed something like "Please enter unlock code". However, when turning my phone off and on, everything was OK again.
The sim didn't actually get blocked though because it was in a 3G phone, but had it been in a 2G phone, it would have blocked my sim.0 -
AFAIK
'3' sim cards are locked to three, mine will not work in any other unlocked phone, you get "invalid sim" message.
Whilst negotiating for an upgrade, I pretended to have lost sim, and 3 CS confirmed a replacement sim (£15) would not work in 2g phones.
Not sure about other 3g phones tho.

I put mine into a Nokia 7250 and it worked for 3 months. 3 then blocked my sim and sent me a new one that wouldn't work in my 2G nokia.
I also got a letter with a quote from there terms and conditions:
5.3 Each SIM may only be used in Handsets which are
enabled for 3 Services and are authorised by us for
Connection to the 3 network. Any attempt to use the
SIM in other Handsets may result in serious damage
to the Handset and may prevent you from being able
to use it, including the making of emergency calls. In
these instances, we are not responsible for any such
damage or usage problems.
I did that about a year ago now, I'm pretty sure all new 3 sim card won't work in 2G phones0 -
'3' sims are of the type USIM. Older phones don't accept USIMs but the Nokia 3220 definitely accepts these types of SIM cards, as I unlocked it and tried it a couple of months ago myself.0
