Wetherspoons, Hove - UGH!

Options
the loos are a disgrace, even after a 'refit'..

the staff keep changing (and there are never enough so you wait for ages to get served..)

the kitchen seems to run on its own time zone, despite the menu's saying open til 11pm (yeh, right!)

AND stocks seem very low- even with a massive Tesco's nearby- they quote some tosh about needing secure lines of goods / health and safety, and not being able to guarantee quality of 3rd party foods?

and as for the smokers huddling outside, right by the doors, then huffin and puffin when you ask them to get outta the way..

?!?

For "Wetherspoons" you could equally substitute any number of popular pub chains.

Remember most of their food is pre-prepared and ready to reheat......they don't tend to employ professional chefs hence their low prices.

Any advice that you receive from me is worth exactly what you paid for it. Not a penny more or a penny less.
  • they started off so well.. i seen more turnover there than in a bakers..

what type of wetherspoons?! their not all the same...

staff turnover is like that in all bars and fastfood places. y is this a problem?!

and whats the issue about the food times? are u saying they dont serve until 11? have u ever thought maybe there had been a kitchen incident and they HAD to close early? unless u work in the said kitchen u have NO place getting aggrevated over the serving hours and food stock.

also they have suppliers that they use, if they run out go home and cook ur own or try another food place. u remind me of a customer that came into a bar i used to work in and complained when we didnt have any milk to make his tea. he then said to me 'cant u go to the shop and get some then?' i said to him 'cant u go to starbucks?'

ive never seen sum1 shut up so damn quick in my life.

I got !!!!!! all for a cold meal, then they took it away for 20 mins and reheated it so that it was inedible!

Our local weatherspoons is fine, really nice place. Its just the staff on the door :(

Im 20 and get Id'd about 25% of the time I go out. Not a problem! Show them my driving license and everyones happy. Or so youd think...

Apparently I dont look anything like my drivers license, but strangely they are the only ones to think this! Which obviously means it isnt my license and so I cant be allowed them in.

Show them a wallet full of cards with the same name on and I get accused of stealing the wallet. Show them a student ID from local uni with my name AND photo from a few months ago, and its a fake!! Show them a staff pass (name and recent photo) from a BIG local company (Football club) with hologramme and such what and this is also a fake!

I have never been there and not spent 10 minutes at least arguing with the staff. Unfortunately due to its location its the perfect meeting place, hence why we use it so much. Such a shame though, as its really nice inside and the bar staff are great!

No wait thats a lie, I had no problems getting in when I was 15. Lol

they have seriously gone down hill, used to be nicely managed, and reasonable food but lately; especially the ones taken over as Lloyds bars are terrible, i wouldn't choose to go in any. Manchester and Liverpool ones are horrid!!
