New sticky? Craft ideas

I totally agree with reehsetin, it's not a whole forum Im after, just one thread?
Its something that is discussed in length on various other threads anyway. With regard to some of the other items discussed on here, not all are money saving. There are approx 500 odd replies to the good fairy candle thread, it just keeps going and whilst I think what she does is fantastic its not money saving is it? In fact, Its free advertising. But if we had a thread dedicated to that type of thing it would fit in.
Just my thoughts and nothing personal to Good Fairy before you all start on me.
There is nothing to stop you changing the title of this thread to say "Moneysaving Craft Ideas" and start it off with some of your own ideas. No thread needs to be made a sticky, it will stay at the top if you and everyone else of course post on it
You can see how well Quacker's Chocolate Slab thread has gone with everyone coming up with their own ideas on how to do them.
Provided it follows the site rules with no advertising your own websites, buying/selling/swapping etc you can walk people through your own craft tips and this will help people like myself who aren't in the least bit crafty
edited to add that its the same across all boards, the sticky threads never get read!0 -
I am one of the worlds least crafty types but I have done this a couple of years ago and spotted the same tip in Martin's Christmas Fivers thread.
Take an Ikea lamp...

Some skeletal coloured leaves or you could use feathers, beads etc, I got some packs of coloured leaves in a craft shop about 20 for £1 and some PVA adhesive and glue the leaves to the sides of the lamp. The PVA will dry clear and you can gently wash round the leaf to remove any excess.
You could try it this week using red hearts and you can gently wash them off and change the theme to match your decor or time of year.
edited to add a website for the leaves although its a US website it will give you an idea of what I used...

I will say that whilst I don't think a sticky is a good idea - well at least not a general Craft one on the celebrations forum - then I do personally love crafts! The Forum for crafts was a question I posed, I didn't mean that anyone else had
Anyway - moving forwards then my plan (time permitting) is to do as I said an OS style index - this will with any luck have a craft section too - for a couple of reasons: first because those of us who love to DIY things at a fraction fo the cost want to know where to find stuff. Second then people who DON'T like craft and doing it by hand will be able to easily avoid threads like that.
Personally I'm making as much as I can (and I am currently debating how to justify a "cuttlebug" for card making etc but it's a teeny bit expensive for me at the moment...) and I love crafts. But MSE isn't really about craft tips (sadly!) and technically I fear if a sticky was to go anywhere then it would be the OS board...
But personally I really don't want it to go there as then I'd not try and catch up with it every day lol!DFW Nerd #025DFW no more! Officially debt free 2017 - now joining the MFW's!

I keep hearing about these 'cuttlebugs' for card making but they are a bit expensive and I can't think really what I'd use one for. The web sites I've looked at havent been very inspiring. Maybe I've looked at the wrong ones.
But my idea is to save money not spend it so..........maybe for the time being I'll make do with what I've got which I have to say doesn't vary much from scissors glue and card..........lolMary
I'm creative -you can't expect me to be neat too !
