New sticky? Craft ideas

I am amazed at the amount of us here that are so crafty and the FAB ideas some of you have!
I love looking at what you all are making and have even posted a few things I have made too.
I wonder would Martin consider a new sticky for us to share our crafts with pics and tutorials?
It is money saving as they will be gifts etc!
Anyone agree?

love the tutorials idea, people do it anyway but to have a lot of tutorials on one thread would be great, especially if the first post was an index to all the different tutorials

Would be a good idea to have all the ideas on one thread............and like you say it is money saving:T

Only problem really is does it belong in the special occassions, the Old Style, Other money saving or yet another board?
I try not to make too many threads sticky as I personally find them distracting and when I eventually get a little time the plan is to try and duplicate what Squaky have created on the OS board with an index for special occasions and weddings - hopefully there will be a section for all the crafty threads that save money :)

See what you mean tine.................and some 'craft' things can cost money rather than save it.

Just in case you all wondered then I posed the question abotu crafty stuf and maaaaybe a forum for it... and it's one that has been posed before by the OS crowd and the view is that there will not be an MSE craft forum - Now before you all go booo hiss then I have to kinda agree with Martin on this... It's not REALLY moneysaving to have a craft forum on here to be honest... the ideas that we have aired in relation to special celebrations etc are moneysaving yes... but imagine if it was a proper craft forum.
Before long it would become hobbies and it would possibly start encouraging all kinds of craft and hobbies - MSE isn't really about that. It's about being a savvy consumer and becoming debt free etc.
Craft really belongs on a craft forum - if it was on MSE it would potentially start taking over vital server resources and could detract from the true purpose of MSE...
    Does that make sense?
SO although the explanation is 100% mine then the decision comes from high above... :)

Anyway it has been discussed before on here and if absolutely necessary I can try to dig out the post for ya all... but not tonight! :D I'm chilling! Honest!

I always get frustrated when people think MoneySaving is about doing without. It’s not; the core philosophy is to live within your means and get good value. As I’ve said before (and it’s now impossible): “there’s nothing wrong with flying to New York on Concorde and coming back on the QE2 provided A. You can afford it and B. You didn’t pay £7,000 for it when it was available elsewhere for £3,000”.

sorry but really i dont think craft goes against the concept of MSE, homemade card for made from say 50p v a £3 shop bought card, home made scrap book v pretty much anything, even if it does cost MSE should be about getting the best deal not going without!! the amount of other rubbish discussed on this forum surely there can be room for this if people want it

anyway there doesnt need to be a whole forum dedicated to it,
one thread, no chat, each post is just a tutorial, and the first post has links with titles to all the posts contained within that thread

Well, for me anything in the craft line is done as a means of saving money. With card making, if I bought everything from the local craft shop it would cost me a fair bit but I try and use whatever I've got around the house and be a bit 'creative' with that.

I totally agree with reehsetin, it's not a whole forum Im after, just one thread?
Its something that is discussed in length on various other threads anyway. With regard to some of the other items discussed on here, not all are money saving. There are approx 500 odd replies to the good fairy candle thread, it just keeps going and whilst I think what she does is fantastic its not money saving is it? In fact, Its free advertising. But if we had a thread dedicated to that type of thing it would fit in.
Just my thoughts and nothing personal to Good Fairy before you all start on me.

Well, as I said before, I'm all for anything that will save money and I'm also interested in anything in the craft line...........though I am a bit limited I have to say.
Is it worth running a Poll about ?
