Added a couple of new people I spotted on a quick look through. My lovely BT home hub is knackered so my internet is more than patchy.

    YM,

When you're done cleaning your place, pop round to mine. It could do with a good sort out.

    Rayday,

Can I have a number please? Not sure what it's for but since others are getting them..... Can I use it towards some nectar points?
  • Good afternoon folks. I've not be about for a few days so thought I would pop my head in and see what's occuring.

It's all quiet on the Creditor Front at the moment. Well, apart from MBNA wanting more money, to which we have responded with a big resounding NO!

    :)

Just had a calll from Northern Rock to advise me that it is not their "policy" to accept reduced payments and they will "have to go for CCJ" as apparently "that is the only way to reduce interest" Yeah right! What a load of B*****T!!! I did highlight that it seemed rather a conveluted method of securing the same end - ie; he said once they have secured the judgement they will "accept" reduced payments - not that they will have a choice at that point cos obviously the judge will decide what we can afford! I hate them!

Of course what he's really saying is that they "won't" stop interest or accept DMP. When I pressed him he then admitted that they would probably go for charging order at the same time as CCJ!

I can live with a charging order TBH, but please, please someone tell me that I am not going to lose my house!

On a more positive train of thought, I am fairly positive that these "together" loans are regulated under the CCA (even when the unsecured is over £25k) cos I remember seeing it when i signed it and also remember the cooling off period which only applies to cca's. Come to think of it, I don;t know that we even had the "cooling off" period. I'm going to request the cca and see what happens.

Northern Rock are a joke. Pot and kettle spring to mind. Who are they to tell people about controlling their finances when they cannot run there own. My b****y money propping them up as well through taxes.

loopy. As far as I understand it when a charging order is made against a property then they will only get their share if you was to sell. If you love your house and have no intention of leaving not a problem. Very lmited knowledge of this as I rent and if I am wrong someone please correct me.

You will not lose your house though. Dont worry.

  • Hello everyone!!!

I hope you all dont mind me posting on here, yellowmonkey suggested you guys could give me the best advice!

I currently have debts of £29,000 and even though I earn a reasonable salary its become a bit of 'rob Peter to pay Paul' situation!!I have an appointment with the CCCS tomorrow but having looked at the link that yellowmonkey sent me regarding stipulations of payplan helping me it stated that they help you if you if you have debts with more than one creditor. For me,the majority is a debt with lloyds tsb (loan,CC and overdraft)and after today(am making a payment) I will only owe around £60 to look again for a catalogue debt.I am really worried that they wont be able to help me and i feel sick that im going to be in this debt forever!!

    could someone advise please?Many Thanks

I think I am going mental lol!

Just enquiring about a teaching assistants course to start in September (my Youth Work qualification needs handing in on 1 October 2008 - and I am behind lol) trying to find out how much it costs and what nights its on. So fingers crossed its not a night that I currently work and its not much more than this years price which is £498 :O

Could be an investment though, I want to work in classrooms and my youngest daughter is 3 in July so starts nursery in September thus meaning I can volunteer at the school I am a Governor in. Course is about 2 years which takes me to when she is full time - sounds a bit best laid plans!

    How you doing YM?

Oh and recent additions to the thread:

    Violet1 177
    Andytwonames 178

If I missed anyone just yell! I didn't do it on purpose honest!

    Sparkiy,

CCCS and payplan are two organisations which provide the service you need. You only need to deal with one of them, not both.

I'm about a week ahead of where you are and it's not as bad as it seems. Go to the CCCS web site and fill in their online forms. It asks for details of your household, income and expenditure and helpfully suggests figures for things you would not have thought of for yourself. Through that part of the process, you do not have to reveal who you are at all.

I don't think it matters if you have one or one hundred creditors. The fact is, you have a debt which is unmanageable and you need help. That's what CCCS will be able to do.

    Don't panic.

I should imagine they will be able to help you as even though its the same creditor it is three different accounts. If not you can run your own. I do mine and its easier than it sounds. If you keep your small catalogue and don't be tempted to finish it because its small then the technicality of another lender could help you!

Take one step at a time see what CCCS say before you worry too much there is always another way - honest!
