Hi again epiphany, we're duplicating our efforts here. Shall we keep it on the thread you've set up to deal with this alone?
    Yes!

Thanks for your replies, I am just reading through the CAG posts but unsure where to draw from!

Is accepting your DMP for 12 months the norm do the creditors never agree for longer ?

For everyone who have been on a DMP for a few years do your creditors keep accepting your payments if your circumstances do not change or do they start to become nasty as the years go on ?

Hi carlos we have had a few "reviews of our situation" by creditors (we are with CCCS) and they have continued to accept our DMP payments although a couple (Goldfish and HFC) applied charges for a month before agreeing again. Goldfish have now passed us to Cabots so I guess they realise we're a lost cause!

    Hi Carlos,

Apparently you can expect a review every 6 months or so but it's just to go over your finances and takes about twenty mins on the phone. Which company do you have your DMP with?

    Hi everyone
just got my CCCs forms through the post
just reading through and it says
"make sure all payments to priority creditors are up to date "

Now i hav'nt paid one of my cards for 3 months and 2 months on the others because ive had no money, this is the whole point of me doing a DMP because i can't afford payments so how on earth do they expect me to make sure all my payments are up to date ?? does ths also mean they won't do a DMP with me unless i'm up to date ??
    please help,worried sick now !

    Hi Sue,

The credit cards are not priority payments. These are mortgage/ rent, council tax and utilities. Make sure they are paid first as they are the people who can take the roof from over your head. Once they are paid make token payments to the credit cards and tell them you are entering a DMP.

    Hope that helps.

  • hey does anyone know what happens if you can't make your DMP payment? I had to pay for my service on my car at the wkend and it was more that I thought. I normally pay £163 but will prob only be able to afford £50. I am awaiting a review cos of a big pay drop next month. Anyone had to do this? To make things worse it will only be my second payment!!

    Thanks Sam,
all those are up to date, thank god !

    can i ask another question
will it go against me being behind with payments ,i mean will creditors want any arears paid before they even consider accepting a DMP ?

Also, one of the creditors has issued a default notice,i don't understand this and what affect will it have on my DMP ?
sorry for all the questions !
