When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free.
Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging the washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important.
Today I will;

Morning,
Today I will:
- scan my bank details to the agency (so that I get paid next week)
- use the free vending machine for hot drinks
- make (and eat) breakfast
- make lunch
- leave the house 10 mins early, so that I can have a nice stroll to work (rather than arriving at the office huffing and puffing!)
- look for mystery shopping jobs (and register with the tax man)
However, will have to buy a cheap gossip magazine (the one where the husband ran off with the wifes, cousins, sister, and they all live happily in their wigwam in the garden), the reason for the magazine, is so that I can enter the competition, and win loads of money.
Have a great day.Debts at the start of my journey - about £23,000 lightbulb moment 01.03.2007 (1st payment to CCCS)..Debt Free Date 25.06.2013 Deposit savings £17,000/£30,0000 -
Morning everyone,
Today I will:- Use work mileage to subsidise shopping trip (nearest Lidl is 30 miles away, but work will bring me within ten miles of it today)
- Do top-up shop for the next fortnight from cash budget
- Aim to spend NONE of wages received today -apart from dds and sos- live on cash in hand for the next two weeks
- transfer all excess wages to kitchen 'pot' and update kitchen fund balances
- join up to the gym again, using money saved in pot account (don't you love pot accounts!)
- Mealplanner dinner
- Update spending diary - which has fallen by the wayside this week:rolleyes:
- Get laundry sorted tonight so that I'm not swamped with wet clothes at weekend
I'm an adult and I can eat whatever I want whenever I want and I wish someone would take this power from me.
