Cue for as song.
There may be trouble ahead .....
http://www.theregister.co.uk/2008/02/29/tiscali_sell_off_confirm/Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0 -

It's not a few people. Tiscali are well known as one of the worst ISPs around, and have a reputation of buying then ruining other ISPs.They say it's genetic, they say he can't help it, they say you can catch it - but sometimes you're born with it0 -
I'm on Tiscali with their TV, broadband and phone package. I always get 6.5meg (unless I'm watching certain TV channels, which eats up about 2meg) and the broadband has been reliable so far. However my installation was a nightmare with the order getting "stuck" in their system somewhere and it was only through persistance I got anything done at all. Once I found someone who was actually empowered to do anything to help me it was plain sailing but it certainly wasn't a lot of fun. And now I find my caller display doesn't seem to be activated so I'm in the process of banging my head against the Tiscali brick wall to get it sorted.
Decent product, good prices, shoddy customer service. At first I thought maybe the shoddy service was down to their margins being razor thin, but now I'm convinced it's because they are poorly managed and their systems and procedures too complex and flakey.
I don't regret anything though as the broadband and phone are fine, I really like the TV service and it's cheap.0 -
Have changed over to Tiscali Calls, Broadband. Have been told I get 25%off BT bill. Question...because in my area of the world we have no possibility of getting phone line with Tiscali for sometime to come, with this 25% off the bill, do I tell BT or does Tiscali? Also, does this mean I will automatically get a Tiscali line when it is available or have I still a choice when the time comes.0

Tiscali have no right/authority to offer you 25% off a BT Bill.
I think your find what they are saying is because they havent unbundled your exchange, they will give you 25% off your normal phone line rental,if you move it from BT to Tiscali. Its not necessary a good idea to move your line rental from BT.0 -
Stay with BT line rental.0
