  • I've never had a problem in the past but after tonights warning I have just tried and Icesave won't let me in. Not too worried but it is annoying. Never had a problem before.

  • Just logged in to my icesave a/c 2 mins ago, and works fine. It's all a bit "x-files" if you ask me......!!
  • Never *touch wood* had any problems with my Ice acc - I log in both thru their site and via Egg Money Manager and have never been kicked out. Applied for new acc about 10 mins ago, and took no time at all!

I did not lie, Paul. I'm a veteran of internet banking and did not expect such a lot of problems, and no mechanism in place to unlock!

I rang and I could not get the data I needed over the phone.

I've been with Lloyds and Citi for many years. Lloyds has never locked me out, Citi did once but a phone call resolved it. If either are busy, the website slows down or you are notified that it is busy. Neither logged me out after two minutes of logging in while I was actually working on something. A phone call could not unlock the Icesave account as the IT department issues passwords only three times a day, apparently.

The difference between me and posters seems to be that I'm a new customer. Maybe we are on a different system? My experiences therefore may be relevant to other new customers, but not to older ones. Don't just dismiss this. For new people, it is a factor to consider. I'm just an average Jane Bloggs who took the time to alert people of a possible problem, for individuals considering joining Icesave. Had I known what I know now, I would not have opened my account at this time.

Are you suggesting that the website can tell the difference between new and old customers before you log in?

I think most websites have hiccups every now and again - sometimes it's for good reasons, updating or whatever, but sometimes it's for absolutely no apparent reason. And you never get to the bottom of it or find out why it's you and not others who suffer. I've never had any problem with ICEsave and it seems most others haven't either. I do think that Lloyds TSB (the OP's other bank) has one of the most reliable and efficient websites going but I have even with them, on occasion not been able to log on.
The essential thing is not to try to log on three times, since it automatically locks you out of any banking system, then you have to go through the whole rigmarole of new password, etc.

I have to go with the majority. I have never had a problem with Icesave

I am a new customer to Icesave, and, to date, I have not experiencd problems with them, in fact they are a breeze compared to ICICI, but that's another story. though of course this could change.
We are talking the bank, yes, just that,
I rang and I could not get the data I needed over the phone.
since you are a new customer like myself, \i cannot imagine what "data" they would have that I did not give them in the first place.
Having said that, I do reserve judgement since it has only been a couple of months, but so far so good.
