Can I cancel my Vodafone contract via email?

Question: How do I end my Vodafone contract?
Answer:
You need to send us a letter saying that you want to end your contract with Vodafone. You need to give one calendar month's notice. If you are still within the commitment period there may be an early termination charge. For information on contract termination please contact customer services.

YEs I did read that but I also read that somone had done it via email as its considered now a legal form of written notice?
Just wondered if anyone had tried via email with any success....0 -
I would have thought if you were outwith your contract period, you could simply cancel the DD and move elsewhere.0

Whilst this example could work with some magazine subscriptions (although they do ask for a letter to be sent to them when you cancel your DD), charges would be built up over time if you did this and you could end up with a poor review on your credit file, thus affecting your credit risk/history. Therefore it's important to make sure you follow their T&Cs correctly in order to avoid any potential (legal) complications later on.0 -
I'm confused by this - if you cancel by post you have to give 30 days' notice but if you request your PAC code to port your number then the contract terminates on the day the number is ported.
Is that correct? That's what I understood to be the case when I spoke to Vodafone.0 -
Thank you, i'll try that email as mine is business too. Thank you.0

That's what is happening with me and T-Mobile. I rung on Tuesday to cancel and was told it would take effect in 30 days. However, when I said I wanted my PAC code they said that when the number was ported that would end my contract and I may get a credit which would be sent to my account or a cheque to my home.0 -
Always make sure you backup your cancellation with a 3rd party service like rewpost.com . Their registered email service is for free and pretty easy to use.0

Just wondered if anyone had tried via email with any success....I emailed my cancellation notice via the email contact form on the Vodafone website on Saturday 29/08 to effect the cancellation on 01/10 which is when my contract ends and have just had an email reply to confirm the cancellation will be actioned as per my request. So the answer is YES you can cancel via email, still going to have to do the "can we persuade you to stay" dance though as they say they will be in touch in a few days. I have the voice recorder on my phone primed and ready for that call;)0
