A-Plan insurance - CHEAP!!

Hiya

Just thought I would let you all know........

My mate always swears by A-Plan so I thought I would give them a go. They have undercut every quote I have got for both mine and my OH car insurance. Even when I managed to get a quote that was £300 lower than anyone else, A-plan lowered it (only by £3 but, hey, its still a saving!).

Only tried them for my car so far but will be going back to them as and when others are due!

Their web site is:
http://www.aplan.co.uk

They seem to have branches all over the place and they get back to you really quick.

Hope you all get to save some money

    I know - I thought that too!
However they are cheaper than everyone else (for me at least) and I have never been on the phone to them for long and they usually phone me back so I am happy enough.
I actually liked speaking to someone for a change!

yes A-PLAN are cheap but wait untill you have to make a claim then you will know why because of there failure in doing the proper paperwork When hit by a speeding drunk motorcyclist I lost my beloved MR2 and the insurance would not pay out for it I lost everything but guess what the guy still got £75000 out of my policy!!!

Sorry to hear you had problems.
Every one has problems with insurance claims at least once in their life...... Direct Line refused to pay out for me so I would never use them again but lots of people get on with them fine.
Just bad luck sometimes, doesnt mean the company is going to be crap for everyone.

I use A-Plan i tend to call in at my local branch.I find them very helpful.
    PF.
  • I've heard mixed reports on A-plan some very good some bad. Overall they seem very good on customer service but it's exactly like a previous poster said, all Insurance companies will have times when they fail their customers. Those that Quote silly inflated prices are simply pricing themselves out of the market as they see you as too high risk and not falling in to their 'ideal' customer base category.
However any company that undercuts anyone at any price seems a little worrying as they are simply buying in bad business. If they increase their customer base at a high rate for low repayment they are surely less likely to pay if surged with claims. The PO did this for a while and I've heard some real bad things about claims with them.
I can say that A-Plan do not undercut at any cost as my brother got cheaper by another company, but they were very competitive and close in price beating most others so do give them a go.

Over all its wiser to ring as many as possible and always make sure the policy details are the same, ie. things like time restrictions on courtesy cars etc, breakdown cover etc etc etc ..

If anyone wants to have a go a getting their insurance for a £1 see this thread in competitions.

My local branch of A plan are quite happy to explain why and how they are able to offer such good deals..... long story short.... they have an agreement with Equity Red Star and as long as you fit certain criteria then they can offer competitive quotes.
