As an employee I thought this is a good offer and typical to post this up as it could save a few of you potentially a lot of money and of course importantly requires no purchase.
A current promotion which is being run by Halifax is a daily free draw for car insurance for £1.
One person per day as of today, who rings for a quote and states they are a branch customer and gives the branch name they got the telephone number from, i.e. Peckham, Wimbledon, Kingston, Croydon etc etc will be entered into the draw. No purchase neccessary.
You can only enter once and this runs upto 30th September every single day. (7day week)
All you have to do is get a quote by phone and name the branch, the draw will be take place each day and customers will be informed by telephone within 5 days of receiving a quote. Winners simply pay for their policy or the deposit if monthly option taken and Halifax will refund you the full amount less £1.
You can get a quote via telephone upto 90 days before your renewal date.
The policy is underwritten by Esure/First Alterantive
The number to call is 0845 60 137 60 or better still use the free telephone in your local branch.
If you have any Q's please ask or simply pop into your branch

Should be good chances on this as the promotion is in early days and its not a high focus area for branches. If anyone gets a £1 deal let us all know..0

I just rang for a quote (it's either an indian call centre, or i was unlucky to get someone employed in the uk who doesn't quite speak english! lol)
Anyway, she said I have to buy the policy to enter the draw!!
I got her to check this and she apologised and confirmed no purchase necessary, and that I had been entered.
Good luck everyone, and don't accept it if you are told the same!
Oh, yes, and it took 13 minutes on an 0845 number to enter...does anyone know how much that costs?

Call centres are glasgow or manchester with a small trial being run in india, so it may have been possible although it should be rare as they only have a small amount of employees.
The 0845 number is charged at local rate and generally sat am will be a busy period for calls.
You must remember to give a branch name to be entered, so if any of you get Quotes for this ensure that the operator logs the call against a branch of the Halifax. Use either a local or any of the names above as these are actual branches in promotion, or wherever you know there is one. You do not need to have an account with them, just tell them that is where you seen the promotion.
Need to state that Northern Ireland & Channel Islands are not included in this offer.
The offer is only being run for those that get the number via a HALIFAX branch, estimated calls from this source are approx 100 per day so there is a pretty good chance of winning this.0 -
We've heard at work that winners of this so far have been given the opportunity for their policy for £1 or alternatively a cheQue sent to them for the amount Quoted less £1 as it is beneficial tax wise to the company. Money for old rope!!

hey, I won this! I didn't even know I'd entered a draw!
I had a message from a lady from Esure asking me to call. I assumed it was a cold call re my insurance quote so I never called back. Then she called again when I was in, said I'd won, and that cos of a problem with the systems, they'd have to send me a cheque instead of getting the insurance for £1. Sounded dodgy, and I'm a sceptical person.
Nevertheless, today (Friday, she called on Tuesday) I received a cheque in the post for £643.47.
I wish I had a more expensive car...!
