I want to get broadband and a phone line in one (with the same provider) is there anyone that does this cheaply?

BT, NTL, Telewest, OneTel and Bulldog are ones that spring to mind.
BT line rental is probably the best option, their broadband is too much money for a capped service.
Bulldog is unreliable and virtually non-existent customer support.
Telewest and NTL phone service isn't value for money.
OneTel has very poor customer services, not sure about how reliable their broadband is.
I wouldn't limit your choice by trying to get both phone line and broadband from one supplier.
If you can get cable, then you wouldn't need a phone line, you could just have broadband and then use VoIP for phone calls. It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!(OK my English isn't great, the sciences, maths & IT are my strong points!)0 -
Hubby and I got broadband and all calls package from Onetel last year, and we were really happy with them in terms of reliability.
A word of warning though, we've just moved house and had checked when we signed the 12 month broadband contract with them that we would be able to have the last 3 months of this at our new address without being charged. They said this would be ok, then we had loads of hassle when we moved because they said we would either have to start a new 12 month contract (which we didn't want to do which is why we asked them about it in advance), or pay £50 to break the contract. Needless to say, hubby and I were extremely miffed with them, and kept pestering them until they agreed to just keep the next month's direct debit payment (£24) instead of the full £50.
We're going to try Virgin.net now for broadband and are using 18866 for calls, so will have to see how it goes...
If you're really desperate for and all-in-one package though, I think telewest have got some deals at the moment, and my parents go with them so I know they're reliable. Personally though, I would steer clear of package deals as you can get them all much cheaper separately.0 -
NTL seem brilliant value to me. £9.99 for new customers to Broadband. £30 for digital TV and telephone.
I currently pay £17.99 for broadband (as I missed the £9.99 deal) but get my landline for free! Customer services from NTL broadband are very good. They have always managed to solve any tech problems I have had... however the UK customer services for NTL phone and account questions are useless. A small price to pay though as when you really need help with a tech problem the tech help desk is superb.0 -
If you are in an NTL area, you can get as stated, Free broadband modem and installation with current offer then £9.99 a month for 1Meg. No need for telephone or TV, and then you can use basic Voip
If you book online they will give you £10 off your bill for doing so. If you go to NTL website via r points you will also get points worth £15.

PS BexTech what is wrong with NTL phone, For less than BT rental, I get off -peak calls at 5p for 60 mins and calls to USA and Ireland at 2p a min 24/7, it very much depends on your needs, I'm happy.Moi....?
