Nokia 6111 Cracked Screen
DD2 has managed to crack the screen on her Nokia 6111 pink.
Can anyone please advise where I can get a cheap repair done, or is it just worth writing off the phone.
Thanks

Hi,
'Cheap' depends on what you think is cheap, but your supplier should be able to point you in the right direction, otherwise go to https://www.nokia.co.uk and look up your nearest repair centre on their support section. For a screen, expect to pay a bare minimum of £60 + VAT.
The cheapest way is to try and buy the screen and replace it yourself, but if you don't have the right tools or are not confident, don't bother as it will cost more on the long run (and of course you can waive good bye to your warranty, but if th screen is cracked that's void anyway).
Personally I'd check your home insurance, as the excess may well be cheaper than the other options.....0 -
Obviously it's something about DD2's that cause this. Mine has done the same.:)0

Could anyone point me in the direction of a screen please, or maybe another phone for spares or repair?
Failing that I'll probably stick it on e bay for spares or repair.
We are due to get new contracts in around may, and have a spare phone, so she may get that for now. When our contracts are renewed, she'll get my wife's phone anyway.
We were going to sell her phone when she got my wife's phone.
My home insurance carries an excess of £75 so that's a non starter.
You can still make calls from the phone but you can't see anything on the screen. She likes to text etc and that's put paid to that.Behind every great man is a good womanBeside this ordinary man is a great woman£2 savings jar - now at £3.42:rotfl:0 -

£25 for a broken Nokia 6111, when as you rightly say you can get a new one for £40 with £10 free credit.....
Me thinks it's a no brainer.Behind every great man is a good womanBeside this ordinary man is a great woman£2 savings jar - now at £3.42:rotfl:0 -
carphone warehouse do it for £40 all inc
....which is the cost of a replacement phone, and she would get the latest SW etc and a new set of earphones to replace the ones that the dog chewed. Plus we could put the new charger on e bay as she already has one.
Faulty 6111s seem to be around the £2 to £3 mark on e bay. If I can get a pink one with a good screen then I have the option of replacing the body on my grey one and putting it on ebay as a pink 6111 when I'm done with it, pink ones appear to have more appeal for some reason
Hence I can refurb 2 phones with one spares or repair.
But thanks for the info anyway:TBehind every great man is a good womanBeside this ordinary man is a great woman£2 savings jar - now at £3.42:rotfl:0 -
