0800 number diverting to mobile - Cheap incoming calls needed

Hello

Can anyone help me, I'm looking to get an 0800 number for my new business and want calls to divert to my mobile. This seems to cost @ 10p a minute for incoming calls plus a monthly line rental of £20 (I only looked at a couple of sites) does anyone know of a better deal or have any advice?

Thanks in advance!

  • Do you want the ability to answer it on your landline,or your mobile,or solely on your mobile?
  • Hello

I'll just be answering it on my mobile only.
  • Pointing a non geographical number directly at a mobile is an expensive business as you have discovered. These people are good but its not cheap.

If you do happen to have a landline you could get one from www.call08.com 1000 inclusive minutes a month for £4.99p then point it at your landline. Then divert landline to your mobile. If your a BT customer you could reduce the cost of the diverted calls by 40% if you subscribe to call mobile and make the mobile number your best friend.
  • Hello

Thank you so much for your advice. So, if I understand correctly, I get an 0800 number, get that diverted to a landline (I have one at home I could use) and then have the landline divert to my mobile? My landline is with BT and my mobile with Vodaphone. Thanks again

Yes your need to subscribe to call divert, and call mobile, and register your mobile number as your best friend to get the 40% off the diverted call costs. Otherwise your be paying 12.5p a minute peak and 7.5p offpeak for them.
  • Fantastic, I've just looked at call08.com, 1000 inclusive minutes a month is great, I hadn't seen that offered before. Thank you so very much, I'm going to order my number now and get on the phone to BTto sort my divert out..... Thanks again, I was totally swamped trying to make sense out of all the options and you've helped me out enormously :)
  • Hello, I'm only just now ready to be able to launch my business - is this still the cheapest way for me to have an 0800 number - to get the number from call08.com, have call divert to my BT landline (which is now set up) then divert and have my mobile as my 'best friend'. I think the discount is now 20%. Thanks again :)

You might also consider using Primus "Penny Mobile" Option on the BT line, which gives you calls to mobiles for a flat rate of 20p for up to 20 minutes. This can be used with call divert so that you end up paying 20p per short call to receive on your mobile.

The "Penny Mobile" option is not listed on the Primus website, but there are other users on this forum that know much more than I do about this... see this thread for example: http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=969689
Let's settle this like gentlemen: armed with heavy sticks
On a rotating plate, with spikes like Flash Gordon
And you're Peter Duncan; I gave you fair warning

To get 40% you do need to take the BT Call Mobile Option as well as use the best friend facility.

Another good option is the one suggested by benjus, especially if the calls are going to last for a little while.
