Port My Number to O2 300 Free Text SIM?

I've recently received one of the o2 300 free text sims. I was wondering if i can port my number to one of these sims and still retain the 300 free text offer ?

    your mobile number and the terms of the sim/payg tariff are completely independent

    I tried for 6 weeks to get a number ported into o2 online PAYG, can't even get them to reply to an email now. They have no idea when it comes to porting.
