I thought the ";)" made that quite a friendly way of putting it...

It's so hard to interpret tone on a forum!

True, perhaps the rolling eyes smile should be taken off, then again whilst it is said that posting is a priviledge, forums would die if it wasnt for "postings", a little bit of banter and sarcasm doesnt hurt anybody.

Going back to the topic, of course the more topics that are posted more than once the more difficult it is for somebody to find a topic that that has only been posted once.

I have no idea what you just said, but I'm going to thank you for it anyway :D

OK, I'll take SOME of the sarcasm in the spirit in which it may have been intended... Since I've now been pointed in the direction of the original post which I didn't see in the first place, I guess all the comments on Kaupthing-Edge can now be posted there! (Unfortunately, I still haven't worked out how to add winks & smiles - or maybe that should be 'fortunately' otherwise this post would be a Gurn-fest by now).

Unless it's directed towards you of course BLF where your pal RW is concerned. or if people don't consider others feelings.... ( Not sure if that could be classed as sarcastic or an observation. Please take as an observation)
Sarcasm is the lowest form of wit as they say( makes mental note to remove sarcastic comment on RS thread shortly)

New posters could easily be put off posting again and that would be a shame.
Totally agree with Aegis in post 8. The "pointing in the right direction" could quite simply be how to use the search facility effectively instead of what I've observed in this thread and the two I linked to....

I'll refrain from dragging the thread off course again.

Agree with you that new posters could be put off. I've seen it happen in the past when somebody innocently posts something that's been mentioned before - only to be buried under an avalanche of scorn from self-appointed experts & never to be seen again. Fortunately, I'm not a new poster nor am I easily put off!

I think that says it ...

All I want is the 3 year bond.
But, you have to open the savings account and then transfer money from a linked account of your choice and then once the money is in savings it can move to a fixed rate
So,did the application form and linked to my Cahoot current account (which it refused to recognise till I changed it to Abbey, the parent bank.)
That little hiccup over I got to the end of the application was given a reference number and told to send a non internet copy of bank statement to a Freepost address. So phoned up and said I didnt get those (I imagine Cahoot would charge if I asked for one) and they said it wouldnt be possible for them to open the account.
So I now have to ring up at 5pm when they will have downloaded my application and they will officially 'decline it'. I can then consider if I wish to reapply using another bank account. Of course, to do that I have to move my money from Cahoot adding another step to what seems a tortuous process.
What is peoples experience? Has the account opened quite fast provided you can submit a bank statement?
