It was a tumour (a 'benign meningioma'), but between the brain and the skull, just behind her left ear, and not on the Pituitary Gland. As brain tumours go, it was a pretty good place.
I have just posted Sue's account of the past few days in the usual place.
Thanks again for all your best wishes. Sue hopes to be back on the board soon.Signature removed for peace of mind0 -

Give Sue my love. Thoughts and prayers for you all.0 -
Hah!
I go on holiday, come back, and it's all done and dusted!
Glad you're up and about again! There'll be less threads and messages on the health board now it's all over
How to find a dentist.
1. Get recommendations from friends/family/neighbours/etc.
2. Once you have a short-list, VISIT the practices - dont just phone. Go on the pretext of getting a Practice Leaflet.
3. Assess the helpfulness of the staff and the level of the facilities.
4. Only book initial appointment when you find a place you are happy with.0 -
Savvy_Sue has a special place in my thoughts as she was the very first person to reply to a thread I started. Her considered advice is IMO a glowing reference to the kind of care people on this forum show one another.
Can I suggest as well as posting good wishes you show your support by signing the address book here.
Savvy_Sue, I'm so glad you're on the mend, and I hope your OH is looking after you both.

You can spend your time alone re digesting past regrets,
Or you can come to terms and realize you're the only one who can forgive yourself.
Makes much more sense to live in the present tense.

'cos I shouldn't be up at this time of night, but this really is me, I've had a few really bad days but went to doc yesterday and spent this afternoon at hospital where they have sorted me out some more, apparently I don't have water on the brain but I may have a mild dose of non-viral, non-bacterial, meningitis, which is quite common after they drill a hole in your head, and the treatment it responds to - no, they don't know why! - is STEROIDS! Well, it works for me. It's basically inflammation, swelling, which makes sense considering it felt as if the top of my brain was trying to escape out of the top of my head at full velocity. And the scar's behind my left ear!
And I can now reveal that I have had removed "we'd be gobsmacked if it wasn't" a benign meningioma. ("gobsmacked" = technical medical term for "we told you so but we could of course only be 99% sure from the outside looking in"). A posterior fossa mengingioma to be precise, and if any of you are sad enough to look it up you will see that if you're going to get a mengioma, this is not a bad place to have one. I was very fortunate to land up with the consultant (and team) who usually look after the very nasty ones, so I guess this was a stroll in the park for them, even though that stroll took about 6 hours ...
Not enough brain power for regular browding, but touched by all your thoughts and good wishes.
Love to you all
Savvy Sue on Steroids!
PS Completely off topic, but if Jellyhead (or anyone else) has had that baby yet, a link to the annoucement would be enormously appreciated!Signature removed for peace of mind0 -

OMG I didn't know we'd got that!
My DH was very touched and impressed by the number of hits on our website from MSE. Thank you all. I haven't learned how to edit our website yet so don't always know what's he's up to over there!Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
Ah, Divadee! Please pm me your address if Little Miss would like her own weight in Madascar figurines from Nestle cereals ... Well, I exaggerate slightly, but I think I've lost your address and I've certainly lost one of my work surfaces ...divadee wrote:I have only just found this thread.
