Being too impatient. My friends transfer from Egg to Halifax took 3 months...
(halifax ****ed up the transfer form and didn't actually send it off!)
Give it another week, if things aren't sorted, go and talk to Natwest.0 -
The welcome letter is here and the ISA is showing with a zero balance on the online banking at the moment so it appears to be up and running with no cash deposited.KTF - have you actually tested the Natwest transfer? I want to open their cash plus ISA for 2009/10 new money and transfer an old TOISA to their E-ISA. Their transfer form is based on the HMRC combined transfer and ISA application ( it has NI details but no ISA no to transfer into ) but the web site says set up an E-ISA first hence the nominal £1 problem. I know Nat West's IT setup and have little confidence in them not cocking it up. But the rates are attractive.
I sent the transfer forms off to Natwest yesterday so I dont know how long the process will take. I also noticed that the form contained no account details so I wrote the details of the ISA account on the top just to be on the safe side.0 -
I really need to transfer mine as soon as possible after the current tax year's interest goes in. I'm currently with NS&I and 0.5% is ridiculous, it's a waste of time putting money in it until the last minute for the tax free status.0

When you transfer any interest not yet paid will be paid on transfer pro rata (so you would get 362 days or whatever worth of interest if you transferred now)0

(headache coming through)
I opened the Barclays Tax Haven last tax year (2007/8) and last week arranged for this to be transferred to Natwest's eISA.
However, I just received a statement from Barclays, saying the account was actually opened around mid-May 2008. I have previous correspondence stating the ISA, although heavily delayed (regulars will remember Barclays' mess from this time last year), would still be opened under the 2007/8 tax year.
There are now two issues:
1) I've subscribed to an ISA this tax year with Natwest (eISA) - what should I do to ensure that because of Barclays' incompetence I've not inadvertently subscribed to two in one year (and therefore none for 2007/8).
2) Interest on my Barclays ISA has only been paid from mid-May, leaving about two months of interest outstanding. The transfer is already in progress (to move the 'whole balance incl. interest' to the Natwest eISA) so what happens with regard to the interest they'll add (around £25 or so) once I've sent another complaint to Barclays?0 -
how long should an ISA transfer take?
I've already requested a transfer from Barclays to Post Office, and have been trying to transfer for 4 months now (barclays cocked up date of birth).
Now want to transfer my Post Office ISA elsewhere, should i keep waiting until Barclays transfers (which may take forever), or go ahead transfer my PO ISA, and then get my new ISA provider to start the ball rolling again with Barclays?0 -
I have a large amount to transfer from a Bradford and Bingley ISA, where the rate has just gone down to below 1%, and a Barclays tax haven ISA.
I need a monthly interest account with instant access and was thinking of the Natwest e isa.
Anyone have any better ideas?
By the way I will be opening a new Barclays Golden ISA on Monday afternoon with the full amount.
Thanks. It's far better to be penny wise than pound foolish.

for 09/10, i'm looking at NorthernRock Fixed ISA, issue 05, at 3.15% until 15.4.2014. i can't see anything that says no transfers in accepted.
i'm not too keen on a 5 year fixed, but i assume i can always transfer out at a later date?
we shouldn't need to withdraw any funds for the forseeable future, so the 180 days loss of interest shouldn't come into play.
edit: but then if i closed it before the 5 years is up, does this apply then too?
me & OH have both got just over £10k each in ISA's with Scottish Widows at the moment on a paltry 1.10%.
we've got other savings with NR too so i'd expect the open/transfer process to go smoothly.
what am i missing?!

Why keep all your eggs in one basket... transfer part to northern rock on a 5 year and and the rest to another provider like Nat West and get up to 3.51%. 3.15% does seem a bit low for a 5 year commitment as even Halifax offers 3.35% over 4 years0 -
.....but this is a huge thread, and i'm not trawling it all!
i currently have a transfer going through from ns&i to halifax, both accounts are online, the money has disappeared from ns&i, how long will it be in the 'ether' before landing in halifax in your experiance?
so far we are 2 weeks into transfer, seems ok to me, not panicking, just asking.
thanks in advancePlease note, we've had to remove your signature because it was sh*te!0
