    Questions
I have an ISA with Barclays Tax Haven from past 2 years allowances.

Can I keep this open and also open the Barclays Golden ISA with this years new allowance, so I have both ISA's? (1)

Can I then later, transfer from both these ISA's into a single new ISA later? (2)

    1. You have already subscribed to this years ISA so no. You can on April 6th though.

    2. Yes

Apologies, should have clarified, that's what I meant in regards to question 1, this year being from the 6th Apr.

Many thanks. I think the best bet for myself as of now, is to open the Barclays Golden ISA with next allowance and then weigh up my options properly, hopefully transferring both or the Tax Haven to a better rate somewhere down the line.

    Sound reasonable?

Edit: Actually can I apply for the Barclays Golden ISA now even though I only intend to use it from the 6th with new allowance? Can't recall if they give an option to officialyl open with £3600 come the 6th even if I apply right now?

It requires a deposit so you won't be able to open it now and wait. You just have to wait and open it April 6th.

I have an ISA with A&L already, can I 'transfer' this existing A&L to the DIRECT ISA ISSUE 5 (as above). A&L seems to change interest rates more than I change my underwear.

I did try the online process of opening a new account, but when i was prompted to enter my exisiting A&L account number, it wouldn't accept it (yes, it didn't accept it's own account number).
  • Regarding the Natwest eISA, beware of ths sales pitch!!! I have been told that the support account cannot be an e-savings because it does not have a card and can only be accesed online. The are tring very hard to sell the First Reserve which only pays 0.20%. I could not get an answers as to this was a requirement from Natwest or they were trying to sell something I don't need. Reading their T&M it only says that "The nominated account must be an account that allows instant access to the money" and as far as I know the e-saving is. I am not giving up and I am calling again.

Actually somewhere else it says the account needs to be "a NatWest current account or savings account with instant access at a branch in the UK". So perhaps the e-savings is not allowed as it only allows access though the internet? Can someone clarify? Thanks.

Natwest set mine up without requiring me to open another account. I already hold e-savings account.

You can obtain a cash card for the e-savings account, I have one.

Do I need to transfer my 07-08 & 08-09 ISAs BEFORE 6 April??

    Please advise.

I'm thinking of going to M&S & First Direct, i.e. one to each.

Or can I transfer both to the same new one?
