Just what I wanted to hear. So it's over to Santander now to make it happen.

The short answer to your question is 'yes'.

The longer one is 'are you sure you really want to have £90K in cash ISAs, given the poor rates they pay'?

The answer is 'yes'. I want the tax haven. It' part of a greater plan.

Hi I've got 1 cash ISA with quite a lot of money in it but the rate has plummeted. Can I transfer some of the money into a 3 yr fixed rate ISA to take advantage of the beteer rates and transfer some of the money into an easy access ISA so that I still have the money 'available'

Yes you can. The current years (2016/2017) must be held in one ISA, but you can split previous years how you like.
  • Hi

I opened an ISA for 2016/17 tax year and also transferred all the previous ISA amounts into this ISA. The interest rate has plummeted. Can I open a new ISA for this year and transfer this year's plus all the previous year's amounts into it? Or am I only allowed to transfer prior years' ISA balances?

The ISA account that I am interested in opening can be opened with as little as £1 and allows transfers of old ISA.

You can. You just have to transfer the whole balance for the current year, you cannot split it

I want to transfer my ISA to two different banks. How do I work out what the balance will be after the interest has been added. I don't want to leave any with my current provider.

Last time I transfered an isa there was a place on the transfer form that alowed you to say transfer the whole capital and outstanding interest rather than say an amount. So I would transfer the first amount stateing an amount. Then wait till that had moved then do the second one and say transfer the whole capital and outstanding interest. Not sure never having done it but hope that is correct.
If you want to work out the amount there is a savings calculator in one of the savings articles. Best savings accounts I think.
    Also one here

    Thank you.

It is so difficult at the moment, I interested in the fixed rate but, the banks with the best interest rates are going so quick. I've also found some of the online forms a bit confusing.
