I have had a reply from nationwide to say I cannot do it because it is 'impossible' ! I seriously doubt that they read the message before they reply. I have replied to them and said it is not impossible as I have done it, as they will see if they look.

Awaiting their reply with interest. I also have an old e-isa account with £2 in it, which is getting 1.75%. This appears to accept transfers in too.

I have an old Nationwide ISA that matures on Dec 1 and I checked today and it looks like I could transfer it to my Flexclusive ISA. I will wait until Dec 1 to do it but please let me know if they let you keep the money there.

No, you can't. The Flexclusive ISA is for new subscriptions only.

They reversed my transaction. No warning, no interest, no reply to my messages

can you blame them? How would you respond to the umpteenst person trying to take the proverbial?

Though why their systems aren't programmed in accordance with their T&Cs is some sort of an ongoing mystery. There are obviously some guys in Marketing who dream up some schemes that the systems and processes are unable to support but these schemes attract a lot of interest with customers for obvious reasons.

Unfortunately, these schemes are unsustainable, so a few Marketing guys get sacked, and customers will be called off the gravy train.

No, it was worth a try. I don't blame them for not accepting the money. I do for the faulty website and totally useless secure messaging system which is not meeting its target times at all, or even never replying to some messages. I wonder how many lots of £50 compensation they will hand out before they fix it.

Hi, can I ask for some advice please.
DH and I opened ISAs this year with Santander,as despite their appalling customer service record, the rate was the best as we had 123 accounts. Both opened over the telephone and both of us asked to transfer in our ISAs from last year into these new santander ISAs.
My transfer was processed fine. DHs took ages as for some unknown reason they twice requested a copy of his passport. Anyway, eventually his ISA was opened, with this years allowance, but no transfer was done. Having queried this with Santander, they now say, DH did not ask to transfer in, which is untrue! I have asked them to listen to the recorded telephone conversation where DH made the request, but fear I will get nowhere with them, or end up giving up as they will drive me mad.
    So what are my options?
Is my understanding of the ISA rules correct, so that DH could open another ISA, but just transfer in last years money, but not put in any money from this year (as it is all in santander)?
Would you suggest something else?....other than avoid santander as their CS is carp :D
    Would much appreciate your advice.
    Thanks

Raise a formal, written complaint. Complaints procedure is on their website.

    Yes, your understanding is correct.
Can't help with much else though, sorry.

Don't give up! If you do all your frustrations would have been for nothing. Good job you have that recorded conversation, well done you; you're in a better position because of that. Let us know what happens.
    Wearing my other one today.
