My ISA special 3.1% rate finishes at the end of October when it drops to 1%.
At that point I'm planning to transfer my past year's ISAs into the best deal available.
If I start to pay in this year's allowance to this ISA, and cannot pay in the full allowance before the end of October, will I be able to transfer this year's allowance that I've already paid in to the new ISA too (irrespective of how much this is)? Or will I have to wait until I've paid in the full £5670 to transfer it? I'm not 100% sure I'll be able to max out the ISA this year.
Thanks for your help!!0 -

When you transfer an ISA, the unsubscribed allowance for this tax year is also transferred with it.
So you can pay into, say, £3000, transfer the ISA, then pay in the rest into the transferred ISA. Fixed ISAs have varying rules, so you'll need to check their T&C's, but this is because it is fixed rather than because you transferred.Wearing my other one today.0 -
How many times can I transfer an ISA in a tax year? For example, if I transferred it next month to a 2.3%(ish) account and it pays interest monthly and then a better rate comes along in September, is it fine to move it again?0

Yeah that's true. Unless you're using fixed rate ISAs I imagine people always transfer all of it at once anyway.0

Hi guys, I recently opened a 2.5% ISA from Santander in order to transfer my old one to(also with Santander) but I have no received any info or form about transfering. This is a bit unusual from previous years when there was either a section in the account opening form, where I need to input my old account details and how much I want to tranfer, or they send us forms via the post with the welcome packs.
Has anyone transfered to these and,if yes, how did you do it? Can it be done in a branch maybe?0 -
I would ring them to find out.
I was able to upgrade my old Flex ISA to the 2.5 ISA on the phone, it was showing the next day . Although it does not show interest rate online, I'm pretty sure it is correct as it is now active whereas before it required activating.0 -
I don't think handing it in at a branch is an option as it gives an address to post to - I will post tomorrow.
I have an appointment with Santander next month to do my ISA transfer from last year to their 2.5% ISA (no longer available), on their advise to do so.
So I definitely think you should be able to take it to a branch.TARGET Deposit for my 1st house!:A NEED£30k:eek: WANT£45k GOT 1stDRegSaver:£1200@ 6% GROSS 1/10/15||SantanderISA:£11,820.41 @ 2.30% 16/04/16| Newcastle BS ISA:£15,149.80 @ 3.02%|Santander123 Cashback earnings: £274.48|TotalCashSavings:£32,302|Last Update:22/2/15:T
