I'm totally rubbish at this ISA transferring game & am wondering if someone can offer advice on when to transfer my current ISA?
Thanks.0 -
what ISA have you got? with whom?
what's the AER?
why do you want to transfer?
to whom do you want to transfer?
did you read the MSE cash ISA transfer guide?0 -
My ISA is with Santander.
Reason I wish to transfer is the interest rate is going to less than 1%.
I don't know who I want to transfer to, need to have a look at the best deals.
Just need to know when the best time to transfer is.0 -
If you can find any better deals that accept transfers in the anytime is the best time.0

So, if I find a good ISA I can transfer now without losing out?0

Yes, provided that you ISA is not currently in a fixed term with withdrawal penalties.

Look for those that permit transfers-in.0 -
Trying to work out if I can transfer my ingDirect isa. It has a truely awful percentage rate so want to do something about it.
However I am currently paying in a set amount each month. Will this affect my ability to transfer it? It was opened some years ago. I know it's due to become owned by Barclays but given up waiting for that.
So what are my options? If I can't transfer it this year would I be better stopping payments. Opening another that does allow transfers at any-time and waiting until April 6th and then transferring it?
Thanks for any help anyone can give.0 -

Assuming the T&C of yours are the same as the current offering, then there is no reason not to arrange for it to be transferred out to one with a better rate.
Have a look here - it is kept up to date.

If you want to keep topping it up, don't choose to transfer to a fixed term/fixed rate account. The only complication might be if the transfer date coincided with your usual payment date. You could avoid this by cancelling your payment as soon as you apply to transfer, then top up with your new ISA provider once the transfer has gone through.
There might be some slightly better rates around next month, but if there are, you can always transfer again. Whatever you decide, don't try to do it yourself. Get your new provider to arrange the transfer.0 -
I received my reminder that my M&S fixed rate ISA is up on 1/3. I only have a week to sort this out now - agh!. M&S fixed rates are now really poor, but may consider moving it to their variable Advantage ISA in the meantime. Does anyone have experience of transferring to Coventry BS? Or can suggest any other 1 year fixed offering more than 2.50%.?

You didn't exactly have just one week's notice! As you would have known a year ago that your ISA matures in a year.......
