I dont take my children to the sale - not because I am being considerate for other people, more that I'm worried they'll get elbowed in the face- some bargain hunters are v scary!!

I wasn't going to go in for the same reason...being heavily pregnant & having seen before the frenzy that some shoppers work themselves into trying to grab the bargains, I didn't fancy getting squashed or elbowed in the tum!

However, I was near my NEXT at about 9.30am on Saturday & it was suprisngly quiet for a sale day...certainly no busier than a normal early saturday morning, all the early birds must've finished & gone for breakfast. So we decided to go in & I got some babygros, hubby got some trousers & shirts for work & we got a garden lounger to match one we got last year...all at 1/2 price, so I was quite pleasantly suprised.
  • I have a theory that as there were no returns allowed on Sat or Sunday lots of people desparate to get their money back will go to the store asap Monday and get their refunds which will mean a large amount of unwanted sale items being recirculated back into sale monday/tuesday.

My friend attempted the sales at the weekend, she is only 6 months pregnant but quite big. whilst queing that the tills she started to get backache so asked a member of staff for a chair, instead they took her right to the front of the queue and escorted her to the car with a member of staff carrying all her bags, she was more than delighted !

  • Well my Next jeans have had a hole in the knee for several weeks but I thought I might as well hang on for the sale.

Popped into Rhyl store yesterday with my toddler in his buggy and not enough room to swing a cat but managed to grab 2 pairs of 8R jeans for less than half price so well happy, one pair being identical to my very comfy hole-in-the-knee ones!

Will definitely be going back when DH available to look after DS as shopping with small child is impossible IMO.

I went at about 6am on Saturday morning, and picked up quite a few bargains - only one top to take back which is too small.

Tip ! The stores will be getting new sale still in over night so its worth going back today. I work there so I know ! Our store (which is small) was getting about 200 crates of stuff in last night, which will be put out over the course of the day. People think they need to get there at 5 am but there is little point as new stuff is put out all throughout the day...happy shopping !

I'd forgotten to look at coats though, so I went back at about 5.30 (shop open till 6) on Saturday afternoon. There were no coats to my liking, but lots of different sale stock had been bought out! Thinking I'll pop back again today after Redheads advice! :)

Hubby bought a pair of jeans in store today and they do not fit. I was wondering if anyone knew how to translate the code on the jeans so that I could order them online? Please help!

Shop stock is not always available from the directory - but if you look on the label where the washing instructions are, there should be either a 5 digit number that starts with an M (this is old stock) or one of the newer 9 digit numbers like 000-000-000. The first six digits of this are the item and the last 3 are the size. Remember to only quote the first six digits if you want a different size!!
  • I just thought I'd mention to everyone to check their receipts from the sale. I have gone thro mine and have been charged too much for several items. The price on the luminous ticket is what I expect to pay so for all the items that have gone thro on a higher price, I will be taking back to show them their mistake and get a refund (or probably a credit against more stuff I will see when I go back!!). :p
