Hi all still quite new to the boards as a poster so please be gentle with me.
Many moons ago I had a contract with o2, when it came to the end of the 12 months o2 were not able to give me the upgrade i wanted so I called them and got put through to retentions who made it very hard for me to cancel and I ended up to agreeing to them continuing to credit my account with a couple of pound a month so that i could have it as a back up phone so that when I came out of my contract with my new provider they (o2) would still treat me as an existing customer. Wheres the harm i thought I will just cancel it at the end of the 12 months again and i have a back up phone.
Well nearly 2 years later and numerous phone calls and 'notes' being added to my account that i do not owe any money, that i have cancelled the contract, and that they agree that i do not owe them any thing and at the end of each call i have been reassured that the outstanding balance that is on my account has been recredited as they don't know where it keeps coming from, and that they have closed my account. I heard nothing from them for over a month, so lulled into a false sense of security i assumed it had been at long last actioned.......
No tonight I have checked my credit report ( thanks to this site for free) to find that the only thing that is against me is o2 with lots of recent late payments marks against my name.
aghhhhhhhhh
what more can i do - i have written to them, i have spoken to lots of them and still there are problems which is now affecting my credit rating. it supposedly says on my notes that I do not owe them anything, I am really at the end of my tether now.
sorry for waffling and for bad grammer etc but have had a very long day and this just put the icing on the cake:mad:

You need to write to their high level complaints dept in leeds.
I may be wrong, but i think you can approach it in light that O2 have messed up your credit file - defomation of character.0 -
A few years ago I had a deal with them where I paid £49.99 for a years line rental in advance. A month later I received a bill for £20 for a months line rental, called them and was told it was incorrect, would be credited, and then a month later got another bill, with the first month on there as unpaid and a reminder.
Called them and was assured it was a mistake and would be rectified.
Then got chasing letters.
Only way of stopping this and sorting it out was to send a letter by Special Delivery with a copy of a Court Application I had completed and giving them 7 days to sort it properly otherwise application will be made to the Court.
Lo and behold confirmation and an apology in writing was received and a notification sent to credit agency to remove late payments.
Never been with 02 since.0 -
