Try disabling all your extensions, then over the course of a day you can bring them back one by one to find out if one of them is not compatible with the new version.

I don't have any extensions. I reinstalled 1.05 but i keep getting the same message. The 1.04v worked great. Went back to the 1.04v, everything working fine again.

It's a shame Firefox doesn't automatically update for you as it seems to with security patches. People who aren't checking the internet headlines regularly would be susceptible to security threats as they are still using older browser versions.

    I might be wrong.

It does warn you when you new versions available - a red cirle appears on the toolbar.

People just post here to look after those who may have it switched off - in the same way people post here when there are new windows updates even though windows has an auto update facility

It seems to tell me though alot later than when it's available. Fairly quick with security patches but ages with version updates (I've only once bothered to wait for it to tell me)

You can click on the circle on the top RHS and that goes directly to the download page. Mine hasn't given me a warning yet although it has in the past, it maybe because I am using the British version of Firefox and as yet no v1.05 is out yet.

No longer a user, goodbye folks. PLEASE delete my account. Thank you

    Never thought of that

Think I'll stick to the main version from now on. don't like waiting for the British version
