Broadband options?

Hi all, I'm looking to pick some brains about various things.
I want to get broadband but I do not currently have a home phone line - we just use mobiles at present. I think the previous occupants (we moved in about 18 months ago) were with NTL.
I have spoken to NTL and I cannot get broadband or digital TV from them, only a phone line and analogue cable (about £14 a month for both with the base pack tv). Now I would be quite interested in this (I would like cable tv) but nearly all broadband suppliers seem to specify you need a BT line, apart from AOL? And would the line be ok if it is not suitable for NTL broadband?
If I have to get a phone line with somone else, do any providers combine a line rental and broadband package? (Bulldog aren't in my area). Lots seem to combine telephone and broadband for a reduced fee, but line rental is a flat extra - Onetel and Homecall seem to do this. I would like to minimise the amount paid for line rental as I won't need a home phone line except for the broadband. And if I do have to pay around £10 for line rental, I would prefer it to be with NTL so I can get the cable TV for £4 extra - but does this mean I won't be able to get boradband?
Are there any other options at all?
Thanks all

Unfortunately, like most of us you are stuffed and will have to pay either NTL or BT/Onetel etc for a connection. One day this will change , but I don't expect it to be soon as OFCOM seems to push things softly, though they are starting to try to change things.
You can get broadband with NTL, and they will do a combined package with telephone calls, TV and broadband access. To infinity and beyond!0 -

Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately NTL don't do broadband (or digital cable tv) in my area.0 -
