K800i - are Vodafone's different spec?

Vodafone has the K800i at £72 at present. Their spec says it's triband, has no mobile internet function and no memory card.
CPW's selling the same phone at a bit more and claims it's quadband, has mobile internet and an upgradeable micro SD card.
Are these the same phones or has Vodafone disabled certain functions in its SEs?

I may be stuck with Vodafone's SIM only as O2 still refusing to allow 2 of us with a joint bank a/c to join Simplicity . Voda have SIM only deals which can be paired with their £5 pm Family option, so may be an alternative.

I would have thought that the internet and bands would be the same but cannot really answer them definitively.
As for the card, I think that it just does not come with one, rather than cannot take one. My K800i from Vodafone did not come with an memory card but I just bought one afterwards.
  • I have a lovely K800i already that's on Vodafone and whilst it is Branded and has Vodafone software it has full internet functionality etc. Mine didn't come with a memory card but again that function isn't disabled. Sounds like the add you saw for the phone was slightly wrong??

You got the link to the advert?
  • Hi,

The K800i stocked by Vodafone is a Quad band devices. I have looked on the website and it does appear that the 3g frequency has been missed of the specification which I will look into for you.

The only thing that Vodafone change is the software in the handset but this wouldn't change any of the other features like the band frequency.

The K800i doesn't come with a memory card but it does have the feature if you wanted to purchase one separately.

The device also has internet availability

If I bought a 2GB card from amazon, would that work fine if I just put it in or is there something I have to do first? Otherwise CPW are selling one with a memory card on Voda for about £10 more, incl credit though, which presumably couldn't be transferred to a pay monthly SIM so would be 'lost' (have to use my PAC code by 22 Feb).
Can't find the link, if I can refind it on Voda's site, I'll post it :)

Same phone. Only difference is that a Vodafone K800i has call and call end buttons. On other networks these buttons ae assigned for other shortcuts. It has 3G etc, sp no difference in bands.
  • hi there myself and my partner have got the k800i on voda they are triband and 3g with internet but didn't come with momery cards so i just went out and got one afterwards and the momery cards are m2's not micro sd's as they will not fit plus i know of at lest to other people that have the same phone and they are the same and as for the family bit i would go for it as you can be on the phone to any of the numbers you have put forward for it up to 1 hour 24/7 then end the call and redial and so on for free as if you went for the weekends calls they are for the hour and so on but they are just for the weekend and so you would have to work at it all over again just to get them for the weekend hope this helps :EasterBun :EasterBun

This is the link from CPW where if you click on spec/multimedia, it says micro SD cards ?? It also says quadband??

I can get it on Voda (where I'd lose my £10 credit unless I stayed with PAYG) or on Orange (I have an old mobile for orange weds) for the same price. Can I transfer the £10 credit sold with the phone to my existing Orange or a ported Orange PAYG no?

this is the link from Vodafone. The spec with the CPW one is different in respect of the memory card. Do you know what memory this phone comes with as I don't use my phone for a lot of music but take photos and video clips?

No memory with the phone apart from the onboard 64 meg.

You need a Memory Stick Micro™ (M2™) like this one :

  • the memory on mine and partners k800i is 64mb on phone but the memory card is the m2
