Laura, Wilkos and a lot of pound shops do pregnancy tests for £1. It's a very basic cheap one, and when I used it, I only got a very faint line....but a faint line is still a line, so you still get a result.
Hope you get the result you want, either way.
I've just been filling in DLA forms to see if Ryan is eligible (a lot of the lovely folks on the ASD support thread have said their children are eligible). I've been doing it all morning and I'm not half way through yet.
Thanks snags, there's arguments for and against. I'd love another baby personally but life's never that simple is it?
I HATE filling forms in. thats why this pile of job apps is still in front of me :eek:On a mission0 -

Juat remember to describe Ryan's worst day Snags. The forms are a complete nightmare. Amber gets upper rate care and lower mobility and she got it without a fight too which was a surprise. But every penny goes on paying her respite carer to take her out on day trips etc, not that we need respite really but she just adores her carer and it's a real treat for her

I will do, thanks. It's awful isn't it - I've spent years saying 'noooo, everything's fiiine, there's no problem...', and now I'm having to say all these things that sound so horrible. But as you say, the money would be a real benefit to him, and might mean I can afford specialist playschemes etc to help him with his social difficulties. So I'm persevering even though I really just want to chuck it away and forget about it.Juat remember to describe Ryan's worst day Snags. The forms are a complete nightmare. Yeah I know how you feel, it is awful, but I find it easier to describe behaviours not Amber, so I detatch her from what I'm saying if that makes any sense. The fact is that these behaviours do exist and they do get expensive. Amber goes to a school for children with severe learning difficulties so during the holidays she goes to a mainstream playscheme. it's great because she gets to mix with mainstream kids too. But she does have 1 to 1 care while she's there and this stuff costs a bloody fortune.
Push hard because even if you have to fight for other things Ryan needs, DLA comes in very handy to cover the costs while you are nagging social services for things.
Do get in touch with the children with disabilities team and get Ryan a named social worker, no doubt he will need a statement and all sorts of help as he grows and believe me, having a decent social worker to deal with the red tape is invaluable.
As ever if you need any help with anything yell.:A
