Excellent, it looks like the new flat I'm moving into is going to have cheaper water bills than I expected!0
-
so I take it I will pay more then , as I live on my own in a 3 bedroom (well 2 and a half as the 3rd room is tiny)
doesnt make much sense as I use much less water then most .
s
maybe water meter is the way to go? but then if someone else ever moved in it would cost me more?0 -
Hi,
I share a home with two other people and our combined usage per annum is between 115 to 150 units of metered water.
This works out at about £210 - £260.0 -
As I read it, this is only for people who want to have a meter fitted but, for a variety of reasons, a meter cannot be fitted. In these cases they are given an assessed charge.
For the vast majorityof people who are on an meter, or are assessed on their old Rateable Value(RV) it will have no effect.0 -
Maybe you are right. But if it were only to apply to households unsuited to meters, why did Thames Water bother to survey all unmetered households? They say that peolple who didn't respond to their survey will automatically be put on to the higher tier, so presumably the policy is designed to cover everyone.0

I don't think this applies to all properties. We just received the water bill for the next 12 months for our flat and it's £250 for the year!
As our flat is rented and we aren't allowed to have a meter fitted, I might get in touch with Thames Water and see if they could put us on the cheaper rate :cool:0
