We're with Cable and Wireless Bulldog and pay £39 for an unlimited broadband and 'free' local & national call package.
We've had it for some months now and can say it's been both good and bad. They took a long time to transfer over from our previous supplier, and then initially we experienced teething problems in the first week. Last month our line went down for several days and found then that customer service was poor. However, I must state that when they're good, they're very good. I'm online as long as my computer's on, and have never been disconnected.0 -
I've been following a conversation on ADSL guide - and it has been mentioned that Tiscali will be supporting Migration Authorisation Numbers in the next month. I mention this because a MAC number will make it easier for you to switch suppliers because it means little to no downtime. Without it you will probably be without broadband for a while because you'll need Tiscali to cancel the ADSL on your line and then have your new provider reactivate it.
If you are switching to a cable broadband provider a MAC code is irrelevant because it's bringing broadband to your house in a different way then Tiscali.
I would look and see too if you require unlimited broadband - In the Tiscali account section you can log in and check to see how much usage you have been using. You may find that when you switch providers you can get a cheaper deal by choosing one which has a usage allowance - unlimited packages cost more. I am online all the time, but was shocked to learn that because I don't download/upload excessively that my usage is only around 2GB a month.0 -
Had similar problems with Tiscali.......I suspect theyve provisionned a line too fast for the distance from the exchange.magzy1827 wrote:i am with tiscali paying £24.99 a month for unlimited broadband, however i am always having to connect to get anywhere.if i have been online a while i am constantly having to re-connect. i am paying for unlimited connection but having to connect myself after short periods of time.i want to change from tiscali.can anyone advise me on the best options please.illegitimi non carborundum0
