Not a suggestion on how to get rid of it but how to use it. When I bought a new fridge freezer I was going to get rid of it but someone suggested putting it in the shed. I only switch it on at times like Xmas when i buy too mucjh and it's great at BBQ's in the summer0

Savvy_Sue wrote:Never mind a 'free to good home', does your local paper not have small ads where you can place an ad free for goods up to £75 or thereabouts? You can say buyer collects and get some £££ for it. You said it was working, if it's been under cover since you stopped using it then that's got to be worth a try!
Sorry, I'm a rubbish Moneysaver  In my defence though, I was just thinking someone who simply couldn't afford to buy one would really appreciate getting one for nothing. I must get better at this Moneysaving lark

That makes you a bad moneysaver, but a very kind & thoughful person. Not a bad trade off at the end of the day.
Down our way, we have a little shop that sells reconditioned and "B" grade electrical goods. If you have someone like that nearby, maybe they would take it off your hands and might even give you a few £'s for it.0 -
i phoned an advertisement in local paper and the guy was going to come for the fridge since last week - every day i got yes, im coming tomorrow, then when hubby phoned him he said hed been and looked at it but didnt want it - he shouldve had the decency to even knock on the door and let me know - i hadnt even said i wanted any money off him or anything....then, i advertised it on freeads for £20 - a guy was meant to come last night but never turned up - so much hassle....
im going to put a free to good home card in my local post office this morning as when i phoned council back and said i have no option but to pay to have it taken away as i cannot have it littering my garden up as my hubby cannot get past it (hes disabled and this is a health hazard) - they told me it would take up to 6wks to remove....aaaarrrrggghhh - he did say it could be today but then again it could be in 6 weeks.....i have not knowing....0 -
Naw, not a rubbish moneysaver, just not a dedicated reader of the local paper! (My son delivers the freebie so I get to see how many free ads there are!) And as Dammam says, kind and thoughtful to boot.Fleago wrote:Sorry, I'm a rubbish Moneysaver  In my defence though, I was just thinking someone who simply couldn't afford to buy one would really appreciate getting one for nothing. You could put it in the paper as free, buyer collects, if you don't find anyone to buy it from you!Signature removed for peace of mind0 -

I wish councils would all have the same rules.
Where I use to lived they would pick up 3 bulky things for three.
Could even book it on-line. Which I did to get rid of a really manky no good to anyone fridge freezer a week before we moved.
I have sinced moved and not sure what the rules are now. But I do live 5 mins walk from a recycling centre. So should be easier to get rid of stuff. Take it over in my wheelbarrow. LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!
