I didn't see George's post  but hand's up all those who did see it and didn't thank him for his comments. Shame on you.

Actually I was only a bit disappointed that the OP effectively said "What a wealth of advice. Thank you all so much (except George)" He thanked everyone else but not me! Anyway, I was pleased that some others agreed with the points I made.

Thinking of changing my exisiting old traditional boiler for a combi boiler.

Is there anything "wrong" with the existing boiler (Except efficiency)? If not then leave well alone! Only replace when it's completely kerfuggered.

As a guide, a friend had a gas back boiler removed, bits moved and a combi fitted for £2.5K.

Could anyone give me an indication of what it would be likley to cost to convert. Obviously, I would employ a Corgi registered person to do this . The new one would go in the same place as the old one but I would like the old water tank and emersion heater removing.
I don't want to start the ball rolling then find it is out of my reach financialy.

Any update, i'm in the same situation. 30 year old boiler and system.

Question; what options do you have in locating a combi boiler if you want it out of the way. I dont like the idea of it on the kitchen wall.
