    Good afternoon: http://www.vaillant.co.uk/installers/High_efficiency_boilers/Combination/ecotec-plus-combination/

My OH has been installing Vaillants: the Ecotec 831 has a higher DHW flow rate..fills the bath quicker and gives a better shower than the 824 (but all is dependent on your mains pressure). To find an installer visit https://www.trustcorgi.com

Thanks for that. I'm not sure what the water pressure is. Can I find this info out? if so, where from?

Good afternoon: Your CORGI will be able to measure the water mains pressure, flow rate, and estimate gas supply requirements. To DIY the first two google 'measuring mains pressure' for suggestions.

    Hi,

I've just done a test from the environment agency website and the kitchen tap at my parents runs at approx 10 l/s. I haven't done this test on the shower as its on the first floor and the garage will be all on one floor (the garage is about the same distance from the mains as the house is). Is this OK or do I need to test the shower too?

Thanks for this, your help is very much appreciated.

10 litres per second? that's astonishing. If you mean per minute at ground floor level, this will be lower on the first floor. I wouldn't recommend a combi or any other mains pressure system with less than 20 l/m.

I've now removed the original text /suggestions which were here. I hoped they were of value but obviously not, as I received no thanks, which was conspicuous by its absence.

I didn't see George's post  but hand's up all those who did see it and didn't thank him for his comments. Shame on you.

:o Sorry yeah i meant per minute not seconds!. Must of been having a moment!!.
I've found some good reviews on Baxi and as Which? recommend it I think i'll go for one of them. My main concern is being able to have a hot shower at a good pressure.

Thanks for all your help everyone.

Without getting into an argument, is it not up to readers/forum users to decide if they want to say thanks, the forum managed perfectly well without the thanks function as people posted without the expectation of having the thanks recorded,
I appreciate that getting thanks is nice when you respond to someones question but dont think it should be expected and I do think deleting the post because you havnt been thanked is a little over the top

Had to thank you - not meant as ironic.

Agree if people say thank you then that is nice - but surely not the reason people post?
    Or is it?
