SquatNow promotes social squatting... making use of empty dilapidated properties, bringing them back into use.

Social Squatting aims to HELP the neighbours... no-one wants to live next to a run-down house with an overgrown garden.

It's not about forcing others out or causing others problems.

Have a look at the website before you critisise.
So whay don't you squat if it's so great?

I don't need to see your website to know more about squatting than you ever will.
    Been away for a while.
  • As long as they reinstate the fence what's the problem?

What you are really still objecting to is the extension itself, but you are too late, planning permission has been granted. Making yourself objectionable now isn't going to help anyone, won't stop the extension, and may make your house difficult to sell in the future.

I write in pure disbelief that this thread is still running. And I am cross with myself that I am genuinely curious as to the outcome...

Don`t know if this thread is a wind-up or not.
The OP doesn`t seem to have got back to this thread and up-dated us or even thanked anyone for their wise words.

20 minutes after posting this thread, the OP was posting about a SanDisk she bought at
    Stockton/Teeside Retail Park.

    http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=691751&page=2

Whereas if I were still on-line,I think I would be back to the thread seeing what was being adviced.

Shouldn`t it be an ofFENCE to post, then not get back and report?

    OfFENCE = :rotfl:

It should be as being 'a Fence' is illegal in its self!

    Yip OP = TROLL ALERT!!!!!

We are all commenting & disagreeing with each other while the OP sits back and contributes nothing!

I think we have been led up the garden path by Lynnemcf, who despite logging-on this morning at 7-13 has chosen to "sit on the fence" regarding an up-date of her original (fence) post.

However,it has led to some interesting debate on how we should all react if the same fate should befall us.

Whoops, didnt know I was going to cause so much distress. Thanks for all the replies, I've read them all. Its loads more complicated that I realized, my fence is still there (hurrah) but there is a HUGE trench on the other side of it, and I can see my drain (yikes). I looked online at the plans (didnt know I could do that, thanks for the info) and it says they were revised 04/02/08 at 10:29 (the day the builders turned up!) but the pdf is so poor I cant read it so have left a message with planning. I have taken lots of pics of the fence with a copy of todays newspaper in the frame. Sorry for any aFENCE caused.

But you're still leaving us all hanging!!!

Is it YOUR fence? On your deeds?

And is it that they just needed to move it for the works with a view to reinstating later?

And did you get your SanDisk sorted?

Why do we all care so much about the OPs fence?

    What day is it?

  • Agree with autismum - PW Act applies here as they are excavating up to the boundary and should have served a party wall notice. Consult a PW surveyor asap - RICS call centre 0870 333 1600 - some give 30 mins free advice over the phone. Worth a try.
  • Have they put a retaining wall, usually just sheets of plywood braced with some wood, inside the ditch to make sure the land doesnt slide taking the fence with it?
Glad your fence was still there when you got home from work anyway.Keep us posted, you may not think it but in amongst some ranting there is usually some pretty good and sound advice.
