Trouble is - we can't all go paperless.... but thanks for the info, I'll think about it. Any special reason why you don't approve of the Post Office?0

In brief, you hand the initiative to them instead of keeping it yourself.Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0 -
OK - FREE WEEKEND CALLS for option 1 users at NO EXTRA CHARGE!!Big headline grabbing sound-byte!
But, turn to Page 2 of the new T&C's and you will spot that they have taken AWAY the cheap Evening calls!
Evening AND weekend calls are currently charged at 4.5p for the first hour (re-dial to avoid further charges)
NOW - Evening calls are going to be charged at 1.5p + 6p setup fee
So, hang on a tic - that's 96p for an hours call that used to cost me 4.5p?!?!?!
BUT (the kind Indian lady reminds me) - you get FREE weekend calls
Not much use if you make a lot of EVENING calls!!!
SLY SLY SLY BT - that's just underhanded promotion....Work to Live - don't Live to Work!!:beer:0 -

That'll be 18185 for your weekday evening landline calls then. Or sign up for the BT Option 2, 12 month rolling contract and get them for free (if you are planning to pay BT your line rental anyway). Or go for the Primus CPS.No reliance should be placed on the above.0
