I'm curious about hp fans who buy the adult version of the book - are you embarassed to be seen reading what you think is a 'children's' book?

If you've seen the size of this 'children's book' then you know it is in fact a good sized 'novel'. Its main audience may be children, and I have read one of the books, but it has a good sized following among adults too. As far as I'm concerned it isn't a children's book, but a novel instead that people of all ages like to read. Try not to think of the HP films, as they don't really do the books justice.

I've got the children's versions of the other books (there didn't use to be be an adult version!), but this year I'll be buying the adult version as I prefer the cover.
I'm not pre-ordering though, it's not as if they'll be no stock in the shops, and they may get cheaper still.

The only reason I've pre-ordered a couple of the adult's books is that 2 certain step-daughters are after a copy each...and knowing that they will definately have one has relaxed them about it all.

  • I've preorederd the last one and I won't be doing so again, will wait until it gets to the real cheap stage because to be honest, I thought the last book was dreadful.

I have to say in the last book JK Rowling made a huge deal about 'the death of a major character' and when it turned out to be sirius black, I felt a little cheated as he isn't really a major character, is he? he showed up in the 3rd book, sent harry a great broom, and apart from that, hasn't really done anything much!
