o2 Repair and Warranty Help Needed

Good Morning everyone!

After lurking for sometime I now need some advice!

Or should I say my sister needs some advice!

She has a Samsung mobile on a 18 month contract with O2.

Now after 13months the phone has decided to die which is not unusual! Now this is where I get a bit annoyed

When taking it back to the 02 shop they have told her that due to the fact that the phone is out of warranty then she will have to not only pay for the repairs to the phone but also pay for the loan phone they are going to provide!!! Not to mention all the inconvience that it is to get the phone fixed etc

Now thats what you call customer service!

So I have been drafted in to go with her to the shop, shes a bit too nice for her own good sometimes!

My opinion is that if the contract period is 18 months then surely you should expect a phone that has been looked after; to reasonably last the full contract time?? And that this is 02's responsibility?

It does smack to me that the operators have decided to extended the contract periods without letting the manufacturers catch up to understand their product lifecycles have also been extended!!

Imagine the advert to 02 get a phone for 18months then after 13 it will break and we can charge you for the next 5 months to get it fixed! As I am sure this won't be the first time this is going to happen!

So as I am heading of to the shop what do you think I should head in and say??

TBH I think it is unacceptable that she is paying for a loan phone plus any repairs and after payig £50+ pm for 13months then i am adament that they should be treating her with a bit more respect if they are thinking of retaining her as a customer.

Retention they are having a :rotfl:

Any advice would be much appreciated and I will update to let you kow how I get on!
