Boots - Points Bonanza Continues... II

Can anyone help? Been to my local Boots today to earn triple points. For some reason when I put my card in the machine for vouchers it won't work. What's even worse when I payed for my purchases the points earned couldn't be added on! As I was hoping to pay with points (now over £150) in the Jan sales, beginning to panic a little. Any ideas? I know this may sound silly but you are putting your card in the slot with the gold contacts facing up and closest to the machine? The instructions are easily mis-understood. I always forget to put it in correctly and the machine stares back at me till the penny drops that I put it in upside down and ar*e about face :-[ ::)

2 loads of T&G only 200 points but in the new boots at the Kingsgate retial park were offering £5 off £25 spent yesterday dont know how long there doing that or if it was just for yesterday but it did kinda compensate the lack of t&g points i had hoped to get

Yes I'm putting it in right. I even got an assistant to come over to check. She wasn't at all helpful though as to why it should suddenly happen, or what I should do. Off to ring Boots up I think. Wish I'd have spent my points now.

Maybe that's the next deal that's coming soon to all stores and you have had it first or is this just the 500pts on a £25 spend on baby stuff you are referring to?

The store beside me, at Straiton Edinburgh is doing this deal as well, but I think it is only because it is a new store. I think it lasts until the middle of December, but not too sure.

this happened to me at the weekend and I had to have my reciept validated, I've got £130 in points so was at bit freaked out. try rubbing the chip on the card before you put it in the machine, i did that and it worked fine, sometimes a fingerprint or someting can make the chip hard to read.

ok, advantage_card is now back from boots.

didnt go to Retail Park owing to when i came off the bus there were SHEDLOADS of school-aged people on it, so i thought i bet they are all gonna go up the RP and make it absolutely mobbed. i was also absolutely bursting for a pee and knew id have to go to M+S for loo - sob sob

so i didnt manage to get my diet coke or diet vanilla coke had to settle for m+s cola instead no snack a jacks either got sour cream n chive m+s crinkles instead *which isnt bad as i used to eat sour cream pingles all the time but cant anymore*

didnt use ANY tokens up because i know what a lot of whingers they can be @ eastgate they would have just refused to take them and as that is the branch me is well known up me would have had red face. Cant use my turkey and cranberry sarnies token @ Eastgate anyway which is the one i really wanted - had to settle for chicken n bacon @ m+s instead. no banana chips left so got two packets of yoghurt covered raisins and two packets of mixed nuts and raisinss instead - then noticed there was a chiller near the tills with bottled water, so nicked FOUR boots ownlabel *had to double check as most places only sell Vittell which i dont purchase*.

there were NONE of the BOGOF tissues left either so had to settle for Strong Three-Ply instead, and when i got home i realised i should have got another packet AND some containers for Lush solid items AND a toothbursh, and i came home with none of those, i also didnt get any blisteze in the end will finish up me vaseline instead.

the nice thing about it though was it was really really dead which for Boots on a Friday at approximately eleven am is unusual * so my prediction that the school-aged people had gone up the Retail Park was probably right. therefore plenty of staff on the floor, plenty of people to ask for help with writing on products, plenty of people to help me find somethign if there werent thigns on a dispaly, like my umberto gianni stuff, which WAS still on three for two, so hurrah. only spent £23 with my little lot in the end so wouldnt have qualified for total spend token out of machine anyway - as i was on my own didnt touch machine in Eastgate knowing my previous problems with it.

i also ended up picking up a whopping EIGHT fluffy toys, which are sititng in boots bags in me room! i cant believe that me on me own amassed a whopping eighty two tokens from boots - well dad got nineteen with the original digital camera, and when he returned it they gave him another nineteen, so not ALL my own work LOL. very nice lady went and hsowed me all the toys let me pick them all let me stand at til even though peeps behind.

very nice day indeed, only ruined by banging into a lampost as couldnt use cane due to too many bags!

nowt security guard, replaced with a female one....wonder why?

spent 3.00, meal deal with 2 cokes, mate spent 20odd

got over 3.00 in points ;D

and my lawyer is writing to boots HO >:(
