I'm an Ebico customer. Just got an email from them saying that they are NOT going to put up their prices for gas and electricity.0

Price of EquiGas and EquiPower to rise from the 1st of April 2008
Ebico today (Friday) announced the first change in the EquiGas and EquiPower domestic gas and electricity supply tariffs since September 2006. As from the 1st of April 2008, the price of EquiGas will rise by 12% and the price of EquiPower will rise by an average of 15%.
Still cheapest for me though"Now to trolling as a concept. .... Personally, I've always found it a little sad that people choose to spend such a large proportion of their lives in this way but they do, and we have to deal with it." - MSE Forum Manager 6th July 20100 -
Thanks for the help. I've ordered an information pack from their website, so hopefully that will convince her to switch.
Can you tell me where you got the information pack from?
Just had a look on their website and couldn't find one anywhere.:wall: Flagellation, necrophilia and bestiality - Am I flogging a dead horse? :wall:

Still cheapest for me though
This also means that, unless you are very cautious/methodical/suspicious any usage pre 1/4 (i.e. at the cheaper rate) will have to be estimated as the opportunity to take an actual reading is now gone (Tardis permitting). Whose favour might that be in?
How very ethical. Like Nationwide BS - Proud to be different, sorry the same.:rolleyes:Live long and prosper.

The first I knew of this (I am looking at this retrospectively) was when I received a letter today, 18th April, notifying me of an increase effective 1st April (how apt), nearly three weeks ago. Of course the letter was issued by 2nd class post.

2 points.
If you now decide to leave Ebico because of their price rise(and I am not suggesting you should) when you notify them, you will revert to the pre-April 1st price tariff.
So late notification, and they have several weeks to notify you, can actually work to your advantage.
The subject of pre/post rise estimation of units has been covered loads of times in this forum.
It is worked out by a sophisticated algorith that takes into account seasonal factors like weather.
If you feel that you have special circumstances(e.g. you have been on holiday for the last 2 weeks) a phone call to them and they will re-adjust the estimated consumption.0 -
For once I agree with my old mate Cardew:T
On the 31st March I entered my meter readings online, via Southern, and received the correct gas and electricity bills about a week later.
This takes me right up to the new prices that began on 1st April.
But as Cardew rightly pointed out anyone that didn`t enter their readings at the end of March, will have their bills adjusted to take into account units used at the old and new prices.
A similar thing always happens with water bills.0
