So annoyed with myself, i had a weak moment and i spent £12 on a KFC for tea for everyone. I had lamb in which i bought from Aldi. My shopping this week was £38 for all five of us we had loads in and i was like stuff it. Do you think i'm being to crazy does the odd takeway not matter. All i can think is its money we didnt need to spend and i could have got loads of shopping with this money. We have £40k worth of debt and i'm worrying about £12 but it's all those £12's thats got us in this mess.
Feel depressed now, it was tasty mind!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You have got to be able to treat yourself from time to time. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

Everyone deserves a treat every now and again.
I felt bad earlier buying a few bits I didn't need, was only £14 but I just kept thinking that £14 could've been chucked at debts. I then realised I did really need these bits so shouldn't punish myself for it.0 -
I've spent £12 on take-aways just for myself this weekend

£12 is not toooo bad. You fed your family for tea. It could have been much worse- you could have spent a lot more if you had bought everyone pizza or chinese. A treat from time to time is needed - just make sure it's ocassional I guess. Maybe a KFC for every £100 or £150 you pay back or something- then you will have earnt the treat and it's not tooo bad.Making my money go further with MSE :j
How much can I save in 2012 challenge

It would have cost a few quid to feed the family, so it didn't cost you £12 more than you would've spent.
I wouldn't worry about it. Saving money constantly can be dull, so it's good to have a small change every mow and then.

Sometimes you just need a takeaway to have a break from all the cooking. Since I've been a DFW I seem to be always cooking because it's cheaper. So I say so long as you don't do it too often it's good to have a treat.Debt Free Date [STRIKE]December[/STRIKE] June 2019

pinky to be honest £12 isnt much in the grand scheme of things. If however you spent £120 taking them to a restaurant then replys will be different. I think it shows that you are confessing it/saw some negative with what you did. But put it aside and move on, it was a treat that i suspect you wont repeat any time soon. Just think if you dont have a another take away for a month technically this one cost 38p per day... i dont think thats such a big problem. Put it behind you and move on.0

I know it sounds mad £12 but i had a lovely lamb dinner there waiting to be cooked i just couldn't be bothered. I'm so concious of every penny i spend, do you think thats a good thing or do you think you can hold on too tight ????20p Savers Club total £67.00:T

At least you enjoyed it - the worst thing is when you have a take-away/eat out and the food is c**p!! I really hate that!!When you were born, you were crying and everyone around was smiling. Live your life so at the end, you're the one who is smiling and everyone around you is crying! :rotfl:0

I think its good to be conscious of where your moneys going. But as everyone will say on here there comes a point where you need a treat, if its a £12 takeaway so be it. You can repay your debts and still have treat or repay your debts and hate doing it. I am sure everyone will agree with me a small treat once in a while is not going to make that much of a difference.0
