Oh Poppy I am sorry about this.... The lawyers are only doing what they are paid to do. Is it worth asking your counsel if you could put the early pages of this forum to the court as evidence that this c*ck and bull storyline is exactly that? There must be loads of people that can vouch for you. Those tickets he never used, the fact you supported him financially and emotionally before he came over... I couldnt imagine (and I dont know you xxx) that you would do this to anyone.

If you have good counsel and a decent magistrate and supportine police then they should see right through these childish tantrums. Try to keep your chin up you and CPS/Police have 6 weeks to get evidene together and bless you for doing it.

I'm not religious but my equivalent of prayers are with you xxxxxx

What a load of BS! Since when did "She wanted me to smack her around" constitute a defence!:mad: They'll be telling the judge you enjoyed it next.

  • Hi Poppy Oscar

Just wanted to say well done for having taken the stand. As much as you may not believe me and as odd as it may sound, you must have come across as a very credible witness. That is why your ex's defense lawyer had to clutch at straws and try to re-frame the situation with you as the baddy. As Setmefree2 says the line of defence 'she wanted me to smack her around' is weak and not one that any reasonable person would believe. So chin up, you have been incredibly brave and have done the right thing. Do not give him any more space in your head (so much easier said than done!) as he doesn't deserve it and know that my thoughts and prayers are with you.

have had another conversation with witness care today and with dv support, and i feel like they have heard what i'm saying - not only that, they are acting on it! they have been wonderful. they are going to get the police to take a witness impact statement and i should get the chance to talk to a lawyer.
things might be looking up. xx

have spoken to someone from the cps today, but they can't discuss the case until it's concluded. they have noted my concerns though. not sure what that means but at least they got back to me. witness care did too and are still so helpful.
have given in and taken a week off. can't do everything. i plan to sleep and relax. need to regain some stamina as i feel there is a way to go yet. still appreciating the support i have had from here - it makes such a difference - makes me believe it's not just me going slowly insane.
    bye for now,

Thanks SS. I'm so grateful for the support here - I really have felt like giving up, then another little message comes along, and i think to myself - no ... i am right ... all these people can't be wrong ... he shouldn't have done that - and the msg gives me a bt more strength to carry on. It's been overwhelming to receive the kindness of people i don't know - has had me in tears many times - but the right kind of tears! So thanks again. PO xx
