Hi If you have even considered buying a Bosch machine over a Hotpoint, then go with the Bosch. Yes you will pay a premium over Hotpoint, but I am very confident that you will make your money back in the lifetime of the machine.

You are quite right in saying that Hotpoint and Indesit are part of the same group. Many of there products share the same basic platform and are badged as the relevant brand. Aesthetically they may look different, however much of what goes on beneath the carcass is identical. There are brands out there that are less reliable than Hotpoint.

I believe the Bosch Classix ranges (entry level) of appliances are no longer made in Germany, but in the far east. Even so they are still very well built machine and good value. Check out the reevoo website for user comparisons for each brand. I'm sure that you will find Bosch wins hands down. :cheesy:

Wouldnt give Hotpoint another penny, lots of problems with the dishwashers we have had through them kept getting error messages and a wet floor. had a problem with a Hotpoint washer that was a manufacturers fault and they wouldnt pay for the repair, customer service is hopeless.

We bought a Siemens fro John Lewis a year ago, free 5 yr warranty as well. Just checked and they still have the same model and the free warranty, £349 but when you add the warranty and the quality I think its worth it.

Bosch all the way. Not only will the machine be better quality, but the support you get will be much better too.
  • Bosch is brilliant, lasts years no problem. All our family now only buys bosch. Hotpoint lasted 17months - never again.
