Bosch v Hotpoint

I need a new dishwasher and have narrowed it down to a Bosch or a Hotpoint.
When I had a new washing machine last year, I ended up going for a hotpoint for the following reasons...
H/p have 1 yr parts/labour and Bosch 2yr.
Bosch looks good although H/p doesn't look bad.
A friend has a new idesit which is hopeless at drying. I've been told that h/p and indesit are part of the same group so do the h/p machines also suffer from drying issue.
Anyone have a recent H/p dishwasher or Bosch and have you had problems or are you really pleased. I'd say I'm looking at machines up to around 5 or so years old as really old machines 10 years+ seem to have been made much better and last forever. (My old H/p washing machine lasted me 16 years with only one or two trips from the repair man)

- Bosch much more expensive
- Hotpoint, although more unreliable, was easily repaired and parts easily obtainable
- Hotpoint had 5 years parts guarentee - if small problem, my friendly repairman would fix it, if mega-bucks breakdown, I'd pay the call out for h/p.

Overwhelmed by the efficiency of the Bosch one in our last place. It worked perfectly.
I have a brand new Smeg one here and it isn't as good already. It's quiet though.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

I've got a Bosch dishwasher and was pleased with it until last week when it broke down. Waiting for the repair man. We've had it since 2002 with no problems till now.0

dont get a hotpoint, bought a hotpoint dishwasher 6 months and it keeps coming up with fault codes, looking on the net it seems its a fairly common problem, also have a hotpoint washing machine and it has a loose wire in it that gives you a shock if you touch it and another metal object at once!!! both 6 months old and both top of the range, would never buy from them again:mad:0

Bosch for me, we bought a 2nd hand one some years ago to tide us over, it has been fabulous and still going strong. I love the look of them too, I like the simple, classic design.
We have just dumped out HP washer, like swarby, never ever again. They certainly don't make them the same as they used to.

Bosch, without a doubt !
When we bought our first dishwasher (mid 80s) from John Lewis in Southampton, the salesman recommended a Hotpoint at £100 cheaper than a Bosch. He showed my wife both machines, they were identical ! They were both made by Bosch and re-badged for Hotpoint. A few years after, Hotpoint started making their own - they were rubbish.0 -
We've a Bosch which has been reliable since 2000 (touch wood) - we're onto our 3rd cutlery box though.0

I was told exactly the same thing with my last dishwasher, well it was my first and it broke down after 12+ years of service. The pump had gone and it was going to cost £65+ to repair if I remember correctly. I tried to get hold of the repair man who struggled to get the pump so I bought a new bosch one from Tesco for £180 in February last year. So far so good and I'm quite happy. I'd definitely buy bosch again and recommend them after my washing machine which broke down (bought at the same time as dishwasher), and the repair man came out and fixed it no problem.
Oh my first automatic washing machine was hotpoint. Loved it, and it lasted for years. Next two were hotpoint and creda, nothing but bother from the creda one. Fingers crossed the Bosch lasts for years now.0
