How can I leave Orange

I am apparently (although I don't agree with Orange on this) on a 24 month contract with them, which I took via a third party agent.

I really want to leave Orange, but they say until I can get the third party agent to agree that it was an 18 month and not a 24 month contract, there is nothing they can do.

Presumably the TP agent will have some way to prove that it was a 24 month contract (even though they signed me up to a plan which was an 18 month promo from Orange - why would I agree to a 24 month contract on an 18 month promo ). I don't recall signing any agreement or contract.

Am I able to get out of my contract? I have just been made redundant and would prefer to be PAYG, at least for the time being, in order to keep a closer eye on expenditure. (The 24 months is up on 8th August 2008).
