Cut cold calls to businesses - hurrah!

I initially found TPS was great and calls almost stopped. However, now call centres have all been shipped abroad, TPS have no control over international calls, and I am back to getting 3 or 4 a week at least. Really driving me mad!
My mum has leukaemia and father in law has a heart condition, so we hate the phone ringing for fear of bad news. We thought of going ex-directory, but understand even this doesn't stop them as they random dial regardless of the phone book entries.
Anyone recommend any other ways to get rid of them?0 -
I've never pursued the TPS complaints form: you're supposed to ask the caller for so much information to complete it, it seems to me you'd waste less time listening to their sales pitch! No, I'm quite rude, I'm prepared to hang up if they won't take 'no' for an answer.ukbill69 wrote:Next time bt rings you, say your registered with TPS and you would like to be removed from there list, if they do not do this then fill in tps complaint form.
Actually, the most persistent 'telesales' contact I've had was from a stationery company I'd used a few times. She started to phone me every month asking if there was anything I needed, telling me about their special offers, and chatting to me as if we were best buddies. I asked her not to phone, promised I'd contact her if I needed anything from them (I only used them for a few items, have a better local chap I use for most things). Had to do this several times, with increasing force! Needless to say I don't use them for anything any more ...Signature removed for peace of mind0
