Unlocking problem

After waiting three weeks I finally had a call from Orange with the unlock code for my Motorola t191e phone, as it wouldn't unlock it with my Orange sim card in, I was told to put any other make of sim card in and the unlock code they gave me, a neighbour put his vodaphone card in, it asked for his pin number, then he put the code in, all we get is incorrect code.

I am waiting for orange to phone me back as I can't get to speak to anyone who knows what to do.

I do know of a shop who for £10 will try and unlock it, but they can't guarantee it.

they wouldnt charge you unless it was unlocked would they?
i may be able to do it if you cover the postage, ill check later to confirm.
if your near leeds (i see your location is yorkshire) i know someone who can do it while you wait

I do live near Leeds, so that would be great nearer than where I was going to have to take it.......but my neighbour had some more attempts last night and now the phone has locked itself, that happened before when I first got it and it did unlock itself eventually, I can't remember how long it took though.
I don't think I am meant to use this phone ;-)

when it locked you out you need to wait a while before you can try again
each time it locks you out you will need to wait longer
ill pm you the email addy of the person in leeds who should be able to do this for you

Thanks drahcir, I had a phone call from Orange this afternoon, he told me that if the code 87379996 would not unlock it with a different sim card (it was saying insert correct card, that's why I was told to try it with a card other that orange)
He said the software must be faulty,andthe bestthing would be to buy another phone, I told him it had locked up because I thought I had made too many attempts, he said that wouldn't lock it up, it was because the phone was faulty.

What is your opinion, is it worth me trying to get it unlocked, or should I throw it away and buy a new one ?

i think if you leave it a while (maybe 24hours or so) you will be able to retry the unlock code again
